Another cold day

Once again, it is colder out side than it is in my refrigerator.

On the upside, it isn't as windy as they said it was going to be.

Here is yesterday's injury report for the New England Patriots:
They have one week to get everyone healthy.

Taxes are done and filed.

One of the things we discovered now that both of us are retired is that we are withholding way too much in federal taxes. The fact that Trump changed the deduction for us old folk may have also impacted our return.

Nice win

The Bruins took an early lead and never really looked back, beating the Flyers 6-3 in regulation.

They remain in the second wildcard slot simply because the rest of the division keeps on winning. The damned Sabres now have a 5 game win streak and the Lightning wins every time the Bruins win. The only team that lost was the Red Wings and they still picked up 1 point because it was a loss in overtime.

The Bruins take on the Lightning tomorrow. Puck drops at 6:30 but since the game is being carried by ESPN, no one really knows when the opening faceoff will happen.

Tough win

The Bruins failed to hold off the Predators last night and regulation ended in a 2-2 tie. Fortunately Pastrnak was able to score on the faceoff and end the game with a Bruins 3-2 win and picking up the two points.

Unfortunately everyone else won last night and Bruins remain in the second wildcard slot.

They are off today and they take on the Flyers tomorrow. Puck drops at 7:00.

I had a whole post written up about the killings in Minnesota but decided that my opinion of a group of masked government agents executing American civilians is probably not something I should spew about.

I will give you these two quotes from the internets: For a guy that is no longer an elected official, Gowdy sure has a lot to say...
I just want to point out that Trump clearly said, "You know, you can't have guns".

The alleged experts continue to predict that the Patriots will be beaten savagely by the Seahawks.

Todays experts are brought to you by USAToday:
    Alleged expert #1 - Seahawks 28, Patriots 17
    Alleged expert #2 - Seahawks 24, Patriots 17
    Alleged expert #3 - Seahawks 31, Patriots 20
    Alleged expert #4 - Seahawks 34, Patriots 17
    Alleged expert #5 - Seahawks 27, Patriots 20
Look, I'm not convinced that the Patriots will blow the Seahawks away. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking the Superb Owl will be a lot like the AFC championship - a close game that could go either way.

Besides, I'm hoping there will be some good commercials.

It finally stopped snowing.

My driveway has no snow or ice on it which means all my complaining and worrying about The Beast is probably a waste of breath. It functioned just fine.

Havining said that, I still think I'm going to look for a new machine in March or April. Twenty plus years is a long time for a machine.

And now that I think about it, my push mower is also more than 20 years old but I only use that to go around the bushes. If it dies, I'm not stuck with 20 inches of snow in my driveway, I'm just stuck with trying to get closer to the bushes with my lawn tractor.

And yes, I actually looked into buying the snow blower attachment for my lawn tractor but then I couldn't figure out where I would put the rig for the winter. Putting that attachment on the tractor makes it almost as big as a car and I only have a two car garage.

I do have a recommendation for Ariens from one of my neighbors who had no struggles doing his driveway.

Despite going into the third period with a one goal lead, the Bruins could not hold off the Rangers and they ended up losing in OT.

Fortunately they picked up the one point and remained in the second wildcard slot.

They are back at it again tonight, taking on the Predators. Puck drops at 7:00

Seventeen inches

According to my yardstick, we ended up with about 17 inches. I measured 10 inches yesterday before I cleared the driveway, then I measured 6 inches this morning before I cleared the driveway and finally my wife & I shoveled off another inch this afternoon.

What I have not done yet is take the roof rake and clear some snow off my roof. That will be tomorrow's task.

I took this picture this morning shortly after clearing the driveway and a path over to my neighbors house.

Oh, and looking at the forecasts for the next several days I came across this little beauty of a prediction for this upcoming weekend:

I hope they are wrong...

To my knowledge, the federal government has not shot any Americans today but they are gearing up for another shutdown.

You would think that after 250 years, they would be capable of putting an annual budget together...

Time to see who is visiting this collection of spewage.
Chrome is still the most used browser but Firefox is holding it's own.

Who the hell is using MSIE and Edge? Those suck.

As for operating systems, Windows is still number one but MAC and Linux are creeping up.

Who the hell is using an iPod as a computer? How is that even possible?

You want to know why I don't gamble?

I don't gamble because I don't understand any of this shit:

Are they saying that the Patriots will win by 4½ points or are they saying that the Seahawks will win by 4½ points? And how, exactly, does one score half a point in a football game?

I don't get it...

There was football today.

The Patriots did not play very well but they played well enough to beat the Broncos 7-10 and move on to the Superb Owl.

Gotta be honest with you, the offensive line struggled to hold off the Broncos defense and Maye's passing was less than great. Then again, Stidham's passing wasn't any better. In my opinion, this was because of the weather. It was windy and it started snowing at the half.

The conditions sucked so not only did both teams have trouble with their passing game, the special teams had trouble kicking the ball. I saw at least three field goal attempts go wide.

So now the Patriots are the AFC champions and they wait to see if they will be playing the Chargers or the Seahawks in Superb Owl 60 on February 8th.

In other sportings, the Bruins managed to hold off the Canadiens and win last nights game 4-3 in regulation.

Despite the win and the two points, they remain in the second wildcard slot.

They take on the Rangers tomorrow night. Puck drops at 7:00pm

Time for an update on our newest family member:
She is the cutest little thing.
    She remains healthy and happy.
Mom and dad are still on cloud nine.
I gotta tell you, those two were made to be parents. They are not terrified, they are not overly protective, they aren't underly protective and they aren't doing anything that makes us say, "Um, that's kinda weird..."

They made a decision early in their married life that they wanted only one child and I'm okay with that. It's their decision, not anyone else's but if they turn around one day and announce that they are expecting another child, I will not be shocked.

Oh, and I may have told my newest granddaughter that it is my intention to spoil the shit out of her.

At halftime of today's football game, I decided to go clear my driveway. As I said yesterday, I have my concerns about The Beast.

When I went out, I took a yard stick and measured the snow in my driveway. According to my yard stick, there was 10 inches. According to the weather dweebs, we will get another 8-10 inches before this ends. I don't think that old snowblower would do well in 20 inches of snow.

And one other weather related thing: I kinda miss getting those phone calls from my Uncle Marino asking if everyone out here is okay.

There is more football to be watched so here are a few links:

Seventeen and Twenty Two

The Red Sox pitchers & catchers will report for their first spring training workout of the 2026 baseball season on February 10th. That is 17 days from today.

The full team is scheduled to report for their first workout on February 15th. That is 22 days from today

Since I'm no baseball genius, I admit openly that I have no idea if the current team will be great, good or bad but I do have some faith in Breslow to build a competitive team. He has put together a starting pitching rotation that is rated by all the alleged "experts" as maybe the best in the MLB so the Red Sox got that going for them.

They do seem to have a hole in both the infield and in the lineup.

As far as the infield goes, they need a good third baseman and I'm not sure they currently have anyone that meets the standard of "good".

As far as the lineup goes, the "experts" are saying the lineup will have a problem against left handed pitchers.

That tells me their ideal solution would be a third baseman would hits well against lefties.

No matter what Breslow does over the next 22 days, I am still looking forward to watching the boys of summer play my favorite sport. And yes, I will be watching because NESN has stated they will be "broadcasting the majority of the 32-game schedule either on NESN, NESN+ or NESN360".

They are predicting 12-18 inches of snow for my little corner of the world.

I'm as prepared as I can be but I do have my concerns.

The Beast is old and starting to show its age. It is about 20 years old now and despite my vigilance with its maintenance, it is still a machine and machines eventually wear out.

For instance, last year I discovered that the valve seats had worn just enough to prevent the valves from sealing fully. This summer I dismantled the engine, ground a touch off the valve stems and reseated the valves but since I'm not a small engine mechanic, my work was probably less than precise. I have no idea if the valves are sealing correctly or not.

Normaly, I wouldn't care how much snow we got. I would wait until it was done snowing and go out to clear the drivewy. This time, I'm planning on doing my driveway twice because I'm not sure The Beast can handle more than 8 or 9 inches of snow.

My wife tells me it might be time for a new snow blower and I'm begining to think she might be right.

The media is less than clear on what happened to cause this so I'll forego any speculation. What I will say is there sure are a lot of people being gunned down by the federal government.

At some point in the near future, I'm betting a large group of individuals calling themselves a "militia" will step into the fray and before you know it, there will be some kind of stand-off. Several DHS or ICE or FBI or whatever three letter acronym (TLA) people will be shot. Also, numerous civilians will die.

When the federal government starts killing civilians, it never ends well for anyone.

As far as Minneapolis goes, until the truth about what happened comes out, everything you read or hear, from both the media and the government, is bullshit. Particularly if it comes out of "truth social".

The Maple Leafs lost

The Bruins remain in the wildcard simply because the Maple Leafs lost in OT and they only picked up one point last night.

This means the Bruins really need a win tonight so they can hold on to that slot.

Puck drops at 7:00pm.

The Very Stable Genius has decided that he won't be invading Greenland but he seems to think NATO has something to do with making deals regarding Greenland.

I don't quite understand how NATO can do anything regarding Greenland other than defend it. NATO is not a governing body.

The alleged "experts" are back at it again and this time, there are more of them.

It also looks like they have changed their tune about the Patriots:
    Alleged expert #1 - Patriots 21, Broncos 23*
    Alleged expert #2 - Patriots 20, Broncos 13
    Alleged expert #3 - Patriots 24, Broncos 17
    Alleged expert #4 - Patriots 20, Broncos 17
    Alleged expert #5 - Patriots 23, Broncos 17
    Alleged expert #6 - Patriots 27, Broncos 13
    Alleged expert #7 - Patriots 21, Broncos 24*
    Alleged expert #8 - Patriots 13, Broncos 10
As you see, only two of the eight "experts" are predicting a Broncos win. The other six all predict a Patriots win.

And just like last time, here is my nonexpert opinion:
The Patriots will win by 14 points
I guess we'll see what happens this Sunday.

They lost huuuuuge

The Stars jumped on the Bruins early in the game and never looked back. They ended up beating the Bruins 6-2 with the Bruins scoring their only two goals late in the third period.

They remain in the wildcard but are teetering on falling out depending on how the Maple Leafs do against the Red Wings tonight.

Their next game is tomorrow when they take on the Golden Knights. Puck drops at 7:00pm.

We spent the day out in Boston visiting with our newest grandchild.

As a non-biased grandfather, I can say with absolute clarity and truthfulness that she is the most beautiful and intelligent baby ever.

I'm a bit busy so I'll end this here:

Tuesday, January 20, 2026

Yea, there is hockey tonight

The Bruins are in Dallas to play the Star tonight.

Right now, they are still in the first wildcard slot and a win won't improve that but it will bring them closer to getting back into a divisional playoff spot

Puck drops at 7:30.

The DJIA, the S&P and the NASDAQ all lost a huge amount of value today simply because The Very Stable Genius is threatening, loudly and stupidly, to take over Greenland.

He will, of course, blame this massive loss in our 401(k)s, IRAs and brokerage accounts on Powell, the head of the Federal Reserve Board. He will say that his threats and tariffs have nothing to do with this market collapse. Then in order to distract us, he'll ask why the DOJ hasn't arrested Hillary Rodham for her involvement in the Epstein situation?

And it's on to the Conference Finals

The Patriots performed well enough to beat the Texans, winning yesterday's game 28-16.

Let's look at the predictions from the alleged experts:
    Alleged Expert #1: Texans 17, Patriots 13 - WRONG
    Alleged Expert #2: Texans 23, Patriots 17 - WRONG
Alleged Expert #3: Patriots 24, Texans 20 - 4 point prediction was way off the 12 point actual
    Alleged Expert #4: Texans 23, Patriots 20 - WRONG
    Alleged Expert #5: Texans 20, Patriots 16 - WRONG
    Alleged Expert #6: Texans 14, Patriots 13 - WRONG
My alleged unexpert opinion is the Patriots will win by 14 points - I was only off by 2 points.

This means I am a better predictor than most of the alleged experts.

So now the Patriots pack it all up and fly to Denver where on Sunday, January 25th, they will take on ex-Patriots backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham and the Broncos.

The problem I see is overconfidence. There is a reason why Stidham was a fourth round pick in the 2019 draft and is still in the NFL - he doesn't suck. He isn't great and he does not have a hall-of-fame career but the Patriots need to be ready for a tough game.

Kick-off is at 3:00 which means I can stay awake to watch the game.

Time for my "I'm Sick!" whine:

I'm actually feeling pretty damned good. The amoxicillin is doing its thing and while one of my ears is still a little plugged, I no. longer have ear pain and my head isn't jammed up like it's holding 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound container.

Sleeping is still a mixed bag but then again, I've never been a strong sleeper so that isn't really related to this flu thing.

So I guess this has been my, "I'm not really sick anymore!" whine.

Speaking of sports...

In less than 18 days, Olympic Curling will be broadcast on my television.

A full-blown win streak

With last night's win over the Blackhawks, the Bruins have won six games in a row.

Three games in a row constitutes a win streak.

Four games in a row constitutes a decent win streak.

Five games in a row constitutes an excellent win streak.

Six games in a row is a kick-ass win streak.

Their next game is this Tuesday against the Stars. Puck drops at 7:30.

The Texans @ Patriots divisional playoff game started at 3:00 this afternoon when the Texans kicked off to the Patriots. Right now they are 1 minute into the 1st quarter and the score is tied 0-0.

Since the Broncos won yesterday, they will have home field advantage over the winner of this game. That means playing football in thin air.

As things stand right now, the alleged "experts" have the Texans winning by 3 or 4 points...
    Alleged Expert #1: Texans 17, Patriots 13
    Alleged Expert #2: Texans 23, Patriots 17
    Alleged Expert #3: Patriots 24, Texans 20
    Alleged Expert #4: Texans 23, Patriots 20
    Alleged Expert #5: Texans 20, Patriots 16
    Alleged Expert #6: Texans 14, Patriots 13
My alleged unexpert opinion is the Patriots will win by 14 points.

I gotta buy a lottery ticket

At 4:00 this afternoon, I went out to clear my driveway. I dragged The Beast out of its cubby hole, fired it up and started down the driveway.

I managed to make two passes down the driveway when the snowblowers fuel tank suddenly decided to fall off.

I looked all around for the two bolts that hold the fuel tank onto the engine. My wife even came out and looked around. No such luck.

So there I am standing there looking a perfectly good snowblower and a perfectly good fuel tank with no way to make the two play nice.

After looking around for a few more minutes, I went into my basement and started going through my stash of fasteners. I came across two that I thought might fit but it was a wild-ass guess on my part.

I took the two bolts outside and wouldn't you know it, they were the perfect fit. Perfect length, perfect width, perfect thread pitch, perfect head size.

I'm going to buy me a lottery ticket.

Yes, my head is still all jammed up. I've got a pretty good sinus infection going on and they put my on mega-dose of amoxicillin.

Hopefully this causes things to calm down because to be honest with you, being mostly deaf kinda sucks. I can't head anything in my left ear and my right ear has some serious tinnitus going on.

This ends my "I'm sick!" whine for the day.

I was watching the Broncos beat up the Bills but that was until Josh I love the 4th quarter! Allen came along. At the end of the first half, it was 20-10 Broncos. At the end of the 3rd quarter it was 23-17 Broncos.

Right now, it is 18 minutes into the 4th quarter and the score is 27-23 Bills.

Twenty dollars for everybody!

Verizon sent me a notice saying they are going to give everyone a $20.00 credit on their bill for the outage the other day.

My first thought was, "Cool."

My second thought was, "Hey, wait a minute! I've got four lines! How come I get the same as people who only have one line?"

My third thought was, "We weren't really impacted that badly anyways. Shut up and take your twenty dollars."

So it turns out that The Very Stable Genius is the owner of a Nobel Peace Prize medal but not the holder of a Nobel Peace Prize.

This is like Tom Brady giving you one of his Super Bowl rings and you taking it. You are now the owner of a Super Bowl ring but you are absolutely not a Super Bowl winner.

Trump is not a winner, he's a winner-wanna-be.

I guess that means he's a loser.

The Bruins beat the Kraken last night, winning 4-2 in regulation.

They did not, however, move up in the standings.

Cell outage for everybody!

Yesterday, Verizon experienced a nationwide outage that affected all of us here.

If your phone had this in the upper right corner, it affected you as well.

Since everyone in my family has an iPhone, we were able to stay in touch via WiFi and iMessage. We could not make phone calls and if you were out of range of a known WiFi signal, you couldn't even use iMessage.

It started for me when my daughter, The Vet, sent me the following:

She eventually stopped being special and became SOS like the rest of us...

It seems like everything is back to normal now for us and hopefully it stays that way.

The Bruins take on the Kraken this evening. Puck drops at 8:00pm.

The Sabres have moved into the first wild card slot but the Bruins remain in the second slot.

A win tonight will push them back into the first slot.

Nice win

Despite the fact I only made it through 2 periods last night, the Bruins managed to hold off the division-leading Red Wings, beating them 3-0 and moving back into a wild card slot.

Tomorrow, they take on the Kraken. Puck drops at that God-awful hour of 8:00pm so I'm hoping to see at least one period.

I hear you say, "Steve, how's the flu thing going?"

Well let me tell you.
My ears are plugged up so everything sounds like it's happening on the other side of a window. Whenever someone talks to me, it sounds like the teacher in the Peanuts cartoons.
I have three SalonPas patches on my ribcage helping to soothe whatever I damaged coughing like an elk during mating season.
Yes, I'm still coughing like an elk during mating season.
I'm only going through half a box of Puffs+ with Lotion© a day.
I'm only taking one or two short naps a day.
I'm in the early stages of a nice little ear infection. I will try my best to minimize it but I suspect this will end with me making a trip to see a doctor.

This has been an update on my trip into the world of feeling like shit.

I hear you say, "Steve, how's the new grandchild?"

Well let me tell you.
She is gaining weight at a normal rate.
She had her first meeting with her pediatrician and all is well.
Her mom and dad took her for her first walk outdoors this morning.
    Mom is doing great.
We have not yet met her simply because I refuse to risk giving her the damned flu.

This has been a grandchild update. And let me just add, she is the cutest little thing.

I'm going to say something that some of you won't like.

Deal with it.

For the most part, states have only themselves to blame for the influx of federal officers into their cities. The federal government has been saying all along, "Help us by holding the people you arrest so we can deport them." but states have instead been issuing edicts and guidance to police departments that basically say, "Do not help the federal government with any illegal alien stuff."

So this is what you get. You get heavily-armed federal agents roaming around your cities, knocking down doors and grabbing people off the streets. If you had just said, "Hey local police. If you arrest some guy and there is a tag on him in the system, you need to notify the feds so they can come get him."

Easy-Peazy-Lemon-Squeazy.

Let the people protest all they want, give the feds what they want and everyone, except the criminal, is happy.

The Texans will be coming to Foxboro

The Texans will be in Foxboro to play the Patriots this Sunday. Kickoff is at 3:00pm so I really hope I can stay awake and watch the game.

The divisionals are now set:

The Bills at the Broncos should be a pretty good game. All it takes for the Bills is to stay close and then for Allen to pull of his usual fourth quarter miracle. It is a distinct possibility that the #6 wildcard team will move on to the conference playoffs...

Did we invade Greenland yet?

Just asking because The Very Stable Genius sure does have a bug up his ass over that island. He even assigned his two most loyal minions to it, Little Marco and James David Hamel.

English comedian Jimmy Carr did an excellent bit on this subject.

The stock market is not happy.

I'm guessing that it is not happy with The Very Stable Genius trying to overturn 250 years of US financial stability by asserting some form of illegal and unethical influence over the Federal Reserve Bank.

Good day for sports.

The Bruins beat the Penguins 1-0 yesterday afternoon. That win moved them to 5th place in the division, one game out of the wild card slot currently held by the Capitals.

Tomorrow they take on the Red Wings. Puck drops at 7:30.

In football, the Patriots beat the Chargers 16-3 last night and no, I did not stay awake to see the entire game.

Let's take a look at my predictions about the game from the other day:
I will not be able to stay awake long enough to watch the entire game - TRUE
Josh McDaniels will have some plays for Maye that will dazzle the Chargers vaunted defense - TRUE(kinda).
Maye will throw the ball well - TRUE
The Patriots will win the game -TRUE

The TRUE(kinda) is a play that I was awake to see. Maye lined up to the right of the line and the ball was snapped to a lineman. The linman then latter-rolled it to another guy who attempted to pass it to Maye. Unfortunately the ball sailed over Maye's head. If it had been accurate and Maye caught it, he would have absolutely gained a lot of yardage because there was no one around him.

Next up for the Patriots will be the winner of tonights game between the Steelers and the Texans.

I spent the majority of my day sleeping.

Reading up on this flu crap tells me that I am over it but symptoms will hang around for two more weeks: congestion and exhaustion.

I am extremely congested, coughing up all kinds of wonderful substances throughout the day. I believe that I may be personally responsible for any profit growth at whatever company it is that make Puffs+ with Lotion.

As for exhaustion, here's my day today:
6:00 - get out of bed, go take a shower.
6:10 - get coffee watch news, cough and blow nose for 20 minutes, fall asleep on couch.
9:30 - wake up, go grocery shopping.
11:00 - get home, unload, take head cold medicine, replenish Puffs supply, fall asleep on couch.
2:00 - wake up, have eat some crackers and a little chowder, fall asleep on the couch.
6:00 - wake up, go take a shower.
6:30 - write this crap, fall asleep on the couch.
11:30 - wake up, go to bed.

Yea, this is going to be a shitty few weeks...

Wild card weekend

Right now, that is all I have to say about wild card weekend. I will have more to say about it tomorrow.

The Bruins are playing the Penguins right now. The Game started at 5:00 and they are still in the first periods. The score is 1-0 Bruins.

And that is all I have to say about that.

The upside to this flu thing is I've lost about 7 pounds over the last two weeks.

If this keeps up, I'll be back to my ideal weight by April...

The Rangers had a bad day.

I watched the Bruins beat the living daylights out of the Rangers this afternoon. It looked like they were playing a high school team.

With a final score of 10-2, they earned the two points and moved back to 5th place in the division.

Oh, and I should point out that I missed most of the first period because I was napping.

Naps are great.

The NFL wild card weekend kicks off today with the Rams & Panthers at 4:30 followed by the Packers & Bears at 8:00.

The big day is tomorrow with the Bills & Jaguars at 1:00. the 49ers & Eagles at 4:30 and finally, the big game, the Chargers & Patriots at 8:00.

Between my advanced years and this flu, the chances of me watching any of that 8:00 game are pretty slim.

Believe me, I'll try to watch as much of it as possible but I'm a realist and I probably won't make it past 7:00 before falling asleep on the couch.

Time for a nap.

Let's try this again

I'm overjoyed to announce that our third grandchild arrived last night.

She is a cutie and we are proud grandparents.

My daughter-in-law is doing well and the baby is healthy & happy. My son has been puked on and pooped on so he's been quickly inducted into fatherhood.

I did not watch any of the Bruins game last night. I fell asleep on my couch and woke up well after the game was over.

I was pleased to learn this morning that the Bruins managed to beat the Flames 4-1.

They are still way out of playoff contention but at least they won and they might still have a chance.

Yes, I am still napping a lot.

I have not had the flu like this for a very long time and it is really beating the crap out of me. Fortunately, I don't have a fever anymore but the snot keeps on flowing and I've lost my voice. In order to communicate with mey wife, I find it easier to just text her...

The alleged experts are making predictions about the upcoming wild card weekend and as of right now, several of them have the Patriots winning 24-20.

Here are my predictions:
I will not be able to stay awake long enough to watch the entire game.
Josh McDaniels will have some plays for Maye that will dazzle the Chargers vaunted defense.
Maye will throw the ball well.
The Patriots will win the game.
These have been my predictions.

Here are some links:

Oops

I fell asleep on the couch before I got around to clicking save. Here is last nights posting in all it's glory:

I feel like crap

At some point, I'm going to waste away to nothing because my body is producing more snot than I thought possible.

I'm thinking my head must weigh around 100 pounds just from the jammage in my sinuses.

So the bottom line here is, no, I don't feel well and I did not spend any time on the internets. I spent it napping.

The Bruins take on the Flames tonight and since the puck drops at 7:00, I might be able to watch some of the game.

They are in need of some wins because right now, they suck. The Kraken kicked their ass the other day, beating them 7-4 and pushing them further down in the standings.

As thing look right now, if they keep playing like they are, they will not be playing hockey in April...

Someone has released the name of the ICE officer that shoot and killed that woman in Minnesota.

That is a bad thing.

Look, no one should die for protesting but she also should not have stepped on that accelerator, running her car towards the guy. She made several really bad decisions and it resulted in her death.

The guy that shot her had less than a second to decide if she was a threat and react. He did just that and it ended poorly for her. Releasing his name puts him in the spotlight. It paints a target on him and that is bad.

I'm going to bed early.

I feel like crap

I no longer have a 103° fever. It is holding steady at 100°.

My bones ache and I have a major sinus headache.

I don't have anything for you today because I have been napping most of the day.

I also rebuilt the busted VPN for the animal clinic but I stopped working on it when it occurred to me that I had done the same step three times...

I will be going to bed early tonight.

Okay, I'm done bitching now.

Remember?

Remember when a large group of individuals, under the influence of their cult leader, stormed the U.S. Capital building, broke in and trashed the place?

Remember the cop being crushed in the doorway?

Remember this ass-clown?

Remember these idiots who don't know how to use stairs?

I wanted to remind you in case you didn't remember.

Turns out that the head cold I told you I had isn't a head cold. It's the goddamned flu.

Every year I get a flu shot because about 15 years ago, I had a really nasty flu and ended up in the emergency room with 104°+ body temp.

Well, I got the shot this year and it didn't do shit. I woke up this morning sporting a 103° body temp and a raging headache caused by the 20 pounds of snot jammed into my sinuses.

For the record, naps are the best things ever and Tylenol is a wonder drug.

Second in the AFC

The Broncos won yesterday which means they remain in the first place in the AFC.

The Patriots also won so they retain their second place slot in the AFC.

On January 11th, the Patriots will take on the 7th place Chargers in the wildcard game. Kickoff is at 8:20pm which means I will probbaly have to take a nap that afternoon if I want to watch the whole game.

The Very Stable Genius is threatening to invade Greenland, a country that has never done anything to the U.S. other than provide us with military bases.

I'm thinking Trump might wind up finding out just how tough the Danes can be. Particularly if NATO rushes to their defense.

There is a possibility we end up in a shooting war with our NATO allies. That will give Psycho Vlad a warm and happy feeling. He'll start invading all of western Europe.

There's a new scam going around that claims to be from the post office.

I got this text this morning
Trust me people, don't click on anything from anybody.

Not yet a streak

The Bruins won last night, beating the Canucks 3-2 in overtime. That gives them two wins in a row. One more win gives them an official winning streak.

I like wining streaks.

They are now in 5th place in the division.

They are off now until Tuesday when they will take on the Kraken. Puck drops at 10:00pm which means that once again, I will not be watching the game...

The Patriots take on the Dolphins this afternoon. Kick off is at 4:25pm.

My concern is that the Dolphins aren't a terrible team. There is a strong possibility that the Patriots will struggle against the Dolphins.

I say this because I looked at the injury report. All of the following players are on the report: Boutte (Concussion Protocol), Diggs (Not Injury Related), Henry (Knee), Campbell (Knee), Barmore (Illness).

Those guys are kinda important to the team. I'm particularly concerned about Henry and Boutte because they are guys that make great targets for Maye.

If the Patriots beat the Dolphins and the Broncos lose (or tie) to the Chargers today, the Patriots will win the conference and will have a first round bye as well as home field advantage in the playoffs. If the Broncos win, it doesn't matter what the Patriots do, the Broncos will win the conference.

Go Chargers!

It snowed this morning.

I just got back from a place where the sun shone from 7:00am to 7:00pm & the temperature was a constant 82°. Now I have to deal with snow...

Oh, and to top it off, I have a nice full-blown head cold.

I'm not entirely sure how The Very Stable Genius is going to "run Venezuela". As I understand it, it's a lot like some of those warlord-run countries. Maybe not as bad as Haiti but it's probably just as bad as some of the African countries.

This is probably going to turn out poorly for both the US military and the Venezuelan people.

I also have a question: If Maduro, who has been indicted on drug trafficking charges, is found innocent during his trial, what happens? Does Trump say, "Oops, my bad!" and send him back to Venezuela?

Time to watch some football.
