I had things to do and this wasn't one of them. This is not a "job" and writing it is something that I do when I'm bored and I have a few spare minutes.
One of the things I had to do yesterday was go to a wake for my friend Paul's father.
Normally when it comes to wakes, I'm a "zip-in, offer my condolences and zip-out" kind of guy but Paul's wife, Diane, cornered me and decided I needed to tell their children about all the things Paul and I did in our misguided youth.
It was fun, which is not a word one usually uses to describe a wake...
The Red Sox, fresh off their series loss to the Rockies, aka "The Worst Team In MLB", decided to play real baseball and they beat the Yankees on both Thursday night & Friday night. They played again this afternoon at 1:00 and the Red Sox managed to beat the Yankees for a third time.
I have no idea how they can lose to the Rockies and then beat the Yankees. The Yankees are the best team in the American League and have a formidable line up. They are are a flat-out good team who are currently at .585 but for some reason, the Red Sox come to life when they play them.
This is a 4-game series and the Red Sox are up 3-0 in the series. That means they have won the series which, as I always say, is the important thing. Winning series always moves a team up in the standings.
My hope level that they will sweep the series tomorrow is above "middle". Not high but nowhere near low...
Anybody been to the Great State Fair that Trump is holding in Washington DC?
