We made a Costco run today

Seems that every time we go to Costco, we end up lugging home a bunch of stuff we didn't plan on buying.

Today was different.

We stuck to the list, got only what we needed and then left....

....and if you believe that, I got a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.

We went in with a list of five or six items and when we left, we had to play a little tetris with the trunk and back seat in order to fit everything.

Costco has a way of showing us things we suddenly need to buy.

The Red Sox are paying at 7:00 tonight and as of 6:00pm today, they are three games ahead of the Yankees and four & a half games ahead of the Rays.

This makes me happy.

First place by two games

The Red Sox started today with a two game lead in the ALEast.

Hopefully the Indians beat the Yankees again tonight and the Red Sox beat the White Sox. That will put them three games over the Yankees.

I'd like to see them with a three game lead again.

First place by a game

The Indians and the Red Sox won't get to play the third game of their three game series until August 14th when the Indians will make a quick stop in Boston on their way to Minneapolis from Tampa Bay.

Sorta sucks to be the Indians.

On the upside, the Yankees lost to the Tigers last night which means the Red Sox are now in first place by a full game.

I like it when they are in first place.

Yet another quiet day

Looks like the Red Sox will be rained out. According to my weather sources, it's going to be raining in Boston until at least 10:00 tonight.

If they decide to start the game at that hour, I certainly won't be watching it.

I got no links for you today and I'm not planning on finding any. Instead,  I'm going to go take a headcold pill and fall asleep.

Quiet day today

President Trump didn't tweet out any new executive orders, he didn't tweet out any insults or cheap shots at any of his staff and he didn't fire anyone today.

I'd kind of like things to stay this way for a while.

The Red Sox won last night and I'm hoping they win again tonight. They are still a half game behind the Yankees and the only way they can catch them is if they continue to win.

Hopefully the Yankees lose tonight.

As for me, I seem to have a cold. This means I will be taking some headcold medicine this evening and then falling asleep.

Headcold medicine does the same thing to me that beer does - Makes me a little loopy and puts me to sleep.
