I thought that was a heck of a windfall and I told my wife I was going to become a scrapper.
You know what a scrapper is, right? One of those crazy old guys driving around in a 1981 Dodge D-150 pickup with rusted out wheel wells and no tailgate, loaded beyond its capacity with every imaginable piece of metal, all held down by what appears to be a couple of old leather belts and three or four bungee cords.
When I suggested it to my wife, she gave me a look that indicated she thought I might have some kind of brain damage.
According to this "expert", the Red Sox are going to have a tough time beating the Orioles.
He says this because apparently the Orioles are "surging". And by surging, what he means is they are on a 7-game winning streak.
Don't get me wrong, a 7-game winning streak is nothing to sneeze at but somehow, I don't find myself all that worried about them.
The hope-o-meter is still pegged at the top.
Oh, and Fangraphs now gives them a 58.9% chance of making the playoffs.
