I'm getting used to things.

For the last seven years, I've had to write HTML and ASP Script to provide to with a nicely formatted DailyNews©. Now that I've moved everything over to here, all that formatting can be done without me writing a single drop of code.

I like it.

The Red Sox lost again last night. That put them at 11 wins, 14 losses, well below .500 and pretty much in full suck mode.

In this afternoons game, Aaron Cook, a starting pitcher, went and got himself spiked at home plate trying to prevent a run on a passed ball. NESN showed the injury to his kneecap and it looked like his whole knee was ripped open.

In true tough guy fashion, he talked the umpire into letting him getting it taped up and he came back out to finish the inning. Very reminiscent of my little league days when the coach would say, "Tough it out kid. Rub a little dirt on it. You'll be fine."

But in the long run, it didn't matter. They're losing again today as I write this and are now so far out of first place in the AL East that there might not be enough games left in the season for them to catch up.

As I said earlier - full suck mode...

Well, I have things to do this afternoon/evening so here are some links that you can click on while I do those things:

College kids

We made the run up to Burlington today to bring home as much of my daughters "stuff" as we could fit into the station wagon.

She has her own car up there and it's a station wagon but since she is in a room by herself, everything in her room is hers. Also, since she's in a room by herself, she has space for a small couch (futon).

So today we went up and brought home the futon, the microwave, the boxes of widgets, gee-gahs, thing-a-ma-bobs, whatsits and whatever else she felt she could live without. That way, when she leaves after her finals next week, she can just toss the few remaining things, like her fridge, into her car and come home.

I'll figure it out one of these days....

I'm going to wait for a while before deciding if I'm going to register a new domain name (or the old one if it's available).

As I said to John, this is a lot of work and I've been at it for about 6 years. It might be time for me to think about this whole posting on the internet thing.

I'm hoping that the Red Sox have not decided to go back into full suck mode.

They are off tonight and then they have three games against the Orioles. Problem is, the Orioles are coming off a three game series against the Yankees where they managed to take 2 out of 3. This means they are playing some pretty damned good baseball.

The Red Sox better get it together and start playing like it means something or they are going to be in the toilet all season.

My backyard has suddenly sprouted grass.

This, my friends, is a very good thing because I was starting to wonder if maybe I had wasted all that effort.

Here are a couple of links you might find interesting:

Welcome to my new world

My side yard BEFORE and AFTER

I managed to ignore my domain name provider and my domain name expired. Rather than spend hundreds of dollars to renew it, I decided to let it die and move everything over here.

Hopefully this works out....

So much for playing .500 ball...

Hopefully things go better this evening.
