The AC is on

For those of you that thought summer was over, I guess you thought wrong.

And don't hand me any of that global warming crap. On September 21, 1985, it was 92 degrees and muggy as hell.

How do I know that? It was my wedding day and I was wearing a tuxedo and sweating profusely.

While I was sweating, my best man was walking up to everyone he could find, tugging on one of his cuff links and saying, "Bond. James Bond." with a Scottish accent.

It was a hell of a wedding.

Technically, today is the last day of my vacation. When I return to work on Monday, I will be in a week-long class at our Chicopee facility.

Kinda like a vacation....

Okay, I did a little work today,

But not much. I answered a few emails and sat in a teleconference with a vendor but other than that, I did nothing.

No sir, not a thing.

Well, maybe a few things.

I relaxed with The Dog for a while. Then I took a drive out through Hampden into Monson to check out a shooting range I might join and finally I went to Big Y to buy some Big E tickets.

Not a bad day for an old, fat guy on vacation.

Have I mentioned that I'm on vacation?

Taking a week off with nothing to do may sound like a waste of vacation but trust me, it's not.

You should try it sometime.

Finally a day with nothing to do

Well, actually I had a few things to do but I did manage to find some time to read the news and look for links.

*

Unfortunately, the news if filled with stories that lack any semblance of fun or interest. Let's face it, I'm hard pressed to make fun of ISIS because there is nothing fun about a bunch of a$$holes running around cutting peoples heads off or crucifying them.

I think I'll just stay away from those stories.

What say we go take a look at some of those links:
