They are not winning

After yesterday's fiasco, I'm guessing Cora had some choice words for his team. I'm betting he let them know that they are professional baseball players being paid large amounts of money to play a game and they better start playing at the highest level.

The game is currently in the seventh inning and the Rays are up 3-1. But more importantly, the Red Sox have committed no errors and the outfield has taken away two home runs from the Rays by catching balls that were in the stands.

The Red Sox need this win so I'm hoping the hitters start hitting.

In other Red Sox news, they DFA'd Raimel Tapia this morning to make room for some guys returning from injuries. Someone will pick him up because he proved to be a good defensive player as well as a decent hitter.

Another loss

The Red Sox couldn't pull it together last night and they lost the second game of the doubleheader.

The game was tied 2-2 after eight innings and they brought Jansen in in the ninth. He did not have a great outing, giving up singles to the first two batters he faced before getting the third batter out.

The fourth batter, however, popped a double, driving in the baserunners. That made the score 4-2 in favor of the Rays.

The Red Sox came up and the best they could do was Devers got hit by a pitch and Yoshida walked. Everyone else hit into an out and the game ended with the loss.

First pitch of todays game was a 1:30 and Houck was on the mound. While he managed to pitch through five innings, when he finished his stint, the Rays were up 4-2.

In the sixth inning, the Rays scored two more runs on a comedy of errors that caused me to yell at my television loud enough so my wife, who was sitting two rooms away using her earbuds to watch a Netflix show, yelled back asking if I was okay.

Yes, I was okay but I was a bit pissed. This is supposed to be a major league baseball team and I've had rec league teams with more self-control and athleticism than what the Red Sox showed in the sixth inning.

So anyways, the Red Sox lost todays game 6-2.

They need to get their collective shit together and win tomorrow's game in order to split the four-game series and stay above .500.

So I've been reading up on the problem that Bud Light has with it's advertising campaign and I'm fascinated by what I've discovered.

Seems that there are several huge investment firms that are huge because they control the investments of large municiple pension funds. The firms have a lot of power over the companies that they invest in simply because they have so much money.

For instance, if an investment manager from JoeBlowInvestmentFirm says to the VP of marketing for the LargeJuiceCompany, "You know that $6.6 billion we invested in your company? Well, we think you should start making an orange juice/grape juice cocktail drink because my kid really likes it" you can bet that the first words out of the VP's mouth are going to be, "Um, sure. We'll give it a try".

Well, that's what happened. You see, it seems that a bunch of cutting-edge, bleeding-heart, socially-correct politicians told the investment firms, "You know all that money we give you to invest? Well we want to invest in companies that are as bleeding-heart, socially-correct as we are." So they did. The investment firms told all the companies they invest in to be jump on the social-justice bandwagon and they did.

What you get when politicians try to meddle in investments is investments that fail. Not only is Anheuser-Busch InBev losing money because they focused on social issues instead of business, all the pension holders (workers) are losing money because their investments are dropping like a stone.

Bud Light is a cheap beer consumed by old fat guys in dive bars, it's not what socially-correct hipsters are drinking. They did well when they were running their Real Men of Genius ad campaign. They should have just stuck with that.

No baseball last night

They got rained out last night. That game has been rescheduled until Monday at 4:00

The first game of todays doubleheader got played. First pitch was at 1:10 and Whitlock was on the mound. He managed to pitch four and a half innings, giving up four earned runs and striking out five. The bullpen came in and held their own, only giving up one more earned run.

The hitters did pretty damned good, driving eight runs across the plate.

In the end, the Red Sox won the first game 8-5.

First pitch of the second game is scheduled for 6:10 and Cora still hasn't decided who will be on the mound. I'm guessing it will be Crawford because they did not use him out of the bullpen and he is definitely a guy who can go more than two innings.

Not much going on in the news so nothing much to talk about.

The biggest thing going on is we are trying to figure out what to have for dinner. I have a feeling it's going to be cheeseburgers and fries.

A win!

Sale pitched fine through three innings but in the fourth, something went wrong and he was throwing the ball all over the place. Cora had no choice but to take him out and this morning the Red Sox announced he has shoulder soreness and possibly a strain.

The score was 2-2 through seven innings and then the Red Sox hitters discovered what their bats are for. They scored six runs in the eighth inning making the score 8-2.

Jansen came in to pitch the ninth and the game ended with a 8-2 Red Sox victory.

Whitlock will take the mound this evening as the Rays come into town for a four-game series over the next three days. They will play one game tonight, a double-header tomorrow and one game on Sunday.

I have no idea why there is a doubleheader scheduled for this Saturday. Conjecture amongst the baseball dweebs is that the league is trying to give players more days off so they started scheduling doubleheaders.

No, I have. not installed my air conditioners. I thought about it but in all honesty, it seemed kind of silly given it's going to be in the mid 60s over the next 10 days.

Instead of AC, I find if I shut all the windows and doors around 10:00 in the morning, my house stays about 75º for most of the day.

I'm sure that in the next few weeks I'll be dragging all of my air conditioners out of storage and putting them in because if there is one thing I dislike, it's heat and humidity.

Finally!

Yesterday the debt override bill made it through the house and today it made it through the senate. All that needs to happen is for Goofy Joe to sign it and the US can once again pay its bills.

Add to that a favorable jobs report and you get a bunch of investors that are happy to invest. That makes for a nice little bump in the value of the DJIA which means my investments are up.

Who knows, maybe I will survive.

Another loss

Despite taking an early lead, the Red Sox couldn't hold on and they ended up losing to the Reds last night 5-4.

I really hope they do a bit better this evening because if they lose tonight, they drop to .500 and that's bad.

My ranting about going golfing seems to have woken the sleeping beasts. I've heard from both Pat and our fellow golf enthusiast, Willie.

I think we're looking at heading out on the golf course sometime next week unless it rains the entire week. The temps should be in the mid to upper 60s which is way better than the 90s.

And who knows, maybe there will be adult beverages afterwards!

There is a line in this news story that I see in a lot of news stories on a variety of topics. That line is, "Trump has denied any wrongdoing".

I see that line a lot. Trump is constantly telling people he did nothing wrong. He usually follows up with an accusation of a witch hunt or political persecution or his personal favorite, fake news. But no matter what he ends up saying, in most cases, he starts out by saying he did nothing wrong.

He's like that spoiled little brat you knew in grade school who constantly said, "I didn't do anything wrong. It must have been those guys over there. They do bad things all the time and then blame me. They're all out to get me!"

Speaking of Trump, I'm thinking about starting a sca.... I mean a new financial offering for his supporters. I'll call it The Official President Donald Trump Lunar Acre Reserve.

Simply put, President Trump, once Biden is arrested for faking the election and Trump resumes his rightful place in the White House, will be federalizing the moon and making it available to investors. But for his current supporters, and only for his most loyal supporters, they will have the opportunity to purchase an acre of the moon before President Trump federalizes it and makes it available for investment. All they have to do is make a donation in support of President Trump. For each $100,000 they invest, they will be given a deed to one acre of prime lunar real estate.

When President Trump resumes his office, it is anticipated that the initial offering for each acre will $500,000 per acre. This means that supporters of The President stand to get five times back on their initial donation.
