Tonight is a "win or go home" game for them so hopefully they win.
First pitch was at 5:08 and the Mets are currently up 10-5 in the 5th inning.
Go Mets!
The Cubans are screwed but that is not what I wanted to say.
Why do we treat Cuba like a plague on the planet? What, exactly, did they ever do to us?
I understand that there are concerns about the way the Cuban government treats it's citizens but that doesn't explain why we hate them. I also understand there are concerns about their relationships with certain other countries and their communist government but we treat Vietnam with respect and have strong trade relations with them.
I don't get it.
The DJIA has had a pretty darned good week.
Gas prices in Hampden County are below $3.00.
Why do I, and a lot of other people, feel like things suck with the economy? Is it the $200 weekly grocery bills? The fact that a dinner out for two people costs more than $80? Maybe it's the 50% increase in homeowners and auto insurance?
If someone figures it out, let the rest of us know, will ya...
James Madison, the primary architect/author of the first 10 amendments (The Bill of Rights) and the 4th President of the United States, is quoted as saying,
-
"The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries."
Another great quote, that I have no idea who said it, is,
-
"Religion is like a penis: it's fine to have one, it's fine to be proud of it, but please don't whip it out and start waving it around in public, and please don't try to shove it down my children's throats."
Apparently, Ryan Walters has never heard those quotes
