Good win but no advance

The Bruins beat the Red Wings 4-2 in regulation last night but since the Canadiens also won their game, the standings are unchanged.

During last night's game, the talking heads on ABC made an interesting statement. They said, "The Bruins have the toughest remaining schedule in the NHL".

That doesn't sound good but it has been my experience that teams tend to play better when they are up against a tough opponent.

Their next game is this Tuesday, the 24th when they take on the Maple Leafs.

The Red Sox beat the Pirates 6-3 this afternoon.

They will play two more spring training games, both against the Twins. One game tomorrow and one game on Tuesday.

On Wedensday, they will fly to Cincinatti where on Thursday, they will open the 2026 season against the Reds.

That's when things begin to matter.
