Nice series win

The Red Sox managed to beat up on the Guardians this afternoon, beating them 13-3. This gave them the series win and put them at .533, 1½ games behind the Aaron Judges.

Bello had his second start of the season and in his usual mannor, he was mediocre at best during the first inning but then came to life and kicked ass over the next five innings.

He ended up facing 26 batters over six innings, giving up three earned runs, three walks and striking out four.

Hendricks came in to close out the game and he did pretty well. I'm thinking he's going to be all right over the course of this season.

They are off tomorrow and on Tuesday they start a three-game series against the Blue Jays

I was able to borrow a torque wrench (I can't find mine...) from John's nephew Anthony and got the head back on my snowblower engine. The service manual showed me the proper torque amount and the pattern to tighten the bolts so there was no guesswork on my part.

Aside from knowing how to do things, having the service manual is always a good idea. Some of them include not only specifics on what needs to be done but also some tips on the easiest way to do those things.

I also created a new "gasket" for the valve cover / breather. I used a manilla folder and some RTV to create the seal. Now I just have to give it a day to dry before putting any stress on it.

That means all that is left is putting the carb, the exhaust, the fuel tank and the tins back on it. Then I'll put gasoline in it and pray that it starts.

Assuming it runs, I'll change the oil and put it away until next winter.

I am about to watch a playoff between five players in the LPGA Chevron Championship.

That's pretty damned amazing.
