Welcome to New England

Today is April 8, 2025.
It is 33°, it is snowing and the flowers are in full bloom...

As Mr. Samuel Langhorne Clemens once said, "If you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a few minutes."

The Red Sox took a loss last night, getting beat 6-2 by the Blue Jays.

I am not a fan of making excuses but I feel compelled to point out they looked freakin' exhausted after Sundays doubleheader. Also, Wong took a nasty hit to his catching hand and had to leave the game.

That was the first game of a four-game series they will play against the Blue Jays. The second game is tonight. First pitch is at 6:45 unless it gets snowed out...

My youngest and his wife are attending classes for first time home buyers and I gotta tell you, I think this is a great idea.

We have told them what it was like when we bought our first home but to be honest with you, times have changed and the process we went through back in the 1980s is really no longer anything like what they are embarking on.

The first class was last night and it covered the basics of how owning a home impacts your income taxes. They also talked about how to maintain your credit history.

Wednesday they will go over the basics of mortgage options, down payment assistance programs and various other items of note like PMI, homeowners insurance, etc...

This just keeps on getting better and better...

Since January 20th, the day Looney Donald took office, the DJIA has lost 15½% of its value.

The S&P 500 has lost 18½% of its value.

The Nasdaq Composite has lost almost a quarter of its value.

I'm no math wizard and I'm certainly not an economist but that seems like a lot.

If he keeps going at the rate he's going, he'll wipe out 100% of the value of the Nasdaq Composite sometime around November 25 or so.
