Big time loss

Yesterday the Red Sox beat the Pirates 2-1 and it was a good game. Today was a different story...

Every once in a while, a baseball team fails to play good baseball.

It could be due to a lot of factors. Maybe the pitchers all have a bad day and end up throwing meatballs over the plate. Maybe the hitters have trouble seeing the ball and they either strike out or they hit into double plays. Maybe the fielders lose their train of thought and fail to make the plays they need to make.

In the case of the Red Sox, today was one of those days where all of those factors came into play.

The Rays beat them 14-2 and that, my friends, is a big time loss.

Tomorrow they take on the Twins. First pitch is at 1:05 and the game will be shown on the NESN streaming service called NESN360.

Let's hope they don't fall apart...

Speaking of the Red Sox, Fitts has been given the 4th starter slot and Yoshida will start the season on a rehab assignment in Worcester.

As for the 5th starter, they are still waiting on Bello, Crawford and Giolito to overcome whatever ailments they have. Until then, they have a few options. Personally, I'm liking that guy Newcomb.

I don't even want to talk about the Bruins.

They are currently hoovering in the "You should just go on vacation" section of the standings.
