Keep on keeping on...

I need to get a permanent filling in my canaled tooth so I called the dentist today to set up an appointment. I was told, "We are waiting for the information from the endodontist. As soon as we get it, we'll call you and set up an appointment."

Until that happens, I guess I have to continue to restrict my chewing to the left side of my mouth.

Which is way better than dealing with the pain I was dealing with prior to the canaling.

I've always thought that members of the senate, the house, the judiciary and the executive (including cabinet members) should not be allowed to buy or sell stocks while in office.

They all sure seem to be able to "predict the future" while they are making decisions that effect the future.

This comes very, very close to what is known as insider trading and is illegal in the US.

They lost the series

Yesterday, the Red Sox stomped on the Blue Jays, beating them 15-1.

Today, the Red Sox lost to the Blue Jays 5-3.

With their loss of the first game, today's loss means the Red Sox lost the series.

Yesterday, Giolito was great and the hitters were hitting the ball.

Today, Buehler was "meh" until the fourth inning when he went into full suck mode and lost track of the strike zone. The hitters got some hits but nothing that drove runs across the plate. As a matter of fact, there was more than one inning that ended with a runner standing on third.

It might be time for the Red Sox to reconsider Buehler's role as a starting pitcher. Unfortunately, they might not have anyone to replace him.

Not much else going on today so here are some links:

Well that was awful.

Bello faced 28 batters over six innings, giving up 3 earned runs, walking three and striking out one. But that wasn't the worst part.

The bullpen faced 21 batters over three innings, giving up 6 earned runs, walking five and striking out one. But that still wasn't the worst part.

The batters got four hits and zero runs. That was the worst part.

The Blue Jays won the game 9-0.

Today's game started at 4:10 and Giolito had the start. As I post this, it is the top of the 2nd inning and the score is 3-0 in favor of the Red Sox.

Here's some kinda good news:

The DJIA is only down 1/2% since The Very Stable Genius took office.
That is way better than the 9% it was down a few weeks ago.

The biggest problem I have with my freshly canaled tooth is remembering that I should not chew on that side of my mouth.

Considering the last week or so has been less than enjoyable for me, I can say this is not a bad problem to have.

Sorry about that

There was no posting yesterday simply because I didn't feel like it.

Late last year, I cracked a tooth and had to have a crown installed. Life was good for a while until February of this year when I suddenly started to experience some pain when anything cold touched the tooth.

I went to my dentist and he sent me to another dentist who specializes in tooth pain. That dentist said, "This is not uncommon and there is a 50/50 chance it will either go away or get worse. If it goes away, great but if it gets worse, you have three choices - live with it, extract it or get a root canal."

I should have known that even with 50/50 odds, I was going to lose.

Fast forward to two weeks ago and the tooth decided that now instead of flashing pain when something cold touched it, it was going to flash pain when anything hot touched it. It also begun to flash pain for no reason at all.

In other words, it hurt all the time and it hurt a lot when I drank coffee or ate hot food.

I made an appointment with the specializer and yesterday at 2:00, I sat down in his chair.

He ran his tests of tapping on various teeth, putting ultra-cold que-tips on various teeth and generally abusing my teeth while I said things like, "Nope", "Nothing", "Holy Shit! That's the one!"

After he finished his torture session, he said, "You really only have two choices now - extraction or root canal. Since you have a crown, the tooth is stable and I recommend the root canal."

So yesterday afternoon, I got myself a root canal.

I should note that this particular dental office is staffed with some decent and funny people. At one point, the tech who was helping the dentist insisted that I take a selfie to send to my wife.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting my tooth (and a little bit of my mustache) in the middle of a root canal:

This morning I woke to find that there was a dull ache in my jaw from the root canal but when I drank my morning coffee, it did not feel like a large man with brass knuckles was punching me in the face.

I will never understand why gambling has become news ever since Massachusetts legalized it.

Do I gamble? Yea, rarely.

I occasionally buy a lottery ticket when one of the games gets into the "billions" range.

If I'm at a bar with friends and everyone is playing Keno, I kick $5.00 into the pot.

So I guess, yea, I gamble.

Do I go to the casino? No, I do not. I went into MGM one time. It was two or three years ago in early March to place a $10.00 bet on the Red Sox winning the World Series because the odds were something like a bazillion to 1. They did not win the World Series and I did not win a bazillion dollars but that is the only time I've been to MGM.

I've been to Vegas numerous times on business trips and the time I spent there was usually spent exploring the desert, or looking for Elvises on the strip, or generally just people watching because trust me, there are some really interesting people walking around Las Vegas.

To me, gambling is just another thing that people get addicted to like booze, tobacco and drugs. You never see a news story that says, "Heroin user celebrates another day of not overdosing!" so why are there news stories about gamblers not losing their money?

Understand, I have nothing against gambling, it's just not my thing. I just wonder about the shit that the media feels the need to report on.

The Red Sox are back in Boston to play the Blue Jays. That means the game starts at a decent hour.

First pitch is at 7:10 and Bello has the start.

I'm really hoping they don't lose...

Last day of heat

Today is predicted to be the last day of heat for us

They are saying that tomorrow will not get above 72°.

This will make me, and everyone else I know, very happy.

Despite Crochet turning in an outstanding seven scoreless innings, the damned Red Sox lost the damned baseball game to the damned Angels 3-2 last damned night.

Dammit.

They are once again below .500 and are now 2½ games out of the wild card.

And last night's game was their 81st game which is the midpoint of the season for them. Being below .500 means they have had a losing first half of the season.

Fitts is back and he's got the start today. Hopefully he has a good outing, the batters can get some runs and the bullpen doesn't implode on them.

I'm posting this before the game starts so I have nothing else I can say about it.

My father had a friend who he had known since his childhood. I called his friend Mr. Clark. My dad called his friend Click.

Whenever we would go visit Click Clark, it was always the same process. We pulled up out front of his house and my dad would always say the same thing, "No running around like a maniac."

He said this to me for the same reason he called his friend Click. Anytime he got out of his wheelchair to stand up, the braces clicked into place.

You see Mr. Clark was the only person I'd ever met that had polio. He had partial paralysis in his legs and one arm. He could walk when the need arose but his main mode of transportation was a wheelchair that he managed to muscle along with his one good arm.

In 1955, Jonas Salk gave the world a vaccination that effectively eradicated polio in the modern world and my parents generation was the last generation that lived in fear of it. No one in my generation, and the generations after me, had to live in fear of catching polio because when we were kids, we were given a drink of something that tasted like watered-down, extra-weak, unidentifiable fruit juice.

Why do I have a feeling that is about to change...

It's a bit hotter today

Here's what the extra-fancy thermometer says today:

Yes, I put a new battery in the outside sensor.

I watched one inning of baseball last night and all I have to say about that is Buehler sucked during that inning.

The offense drove in 3 runs in the top of the first inning so when Buehler came out, he had a three run lead.

His first pitch got sent into the stands for a homerun but that was okay because he still had a 3-1 lead.

He got the next batter to fly out to center field. It was 3-1 Red Sox with one out.

He walked the next two batters but got another out when the next batter hit a pop foul that the catcher grabbed. It was 3-1 Red Sox with two outs and runners on 1st & 2nd.

The next batter hit a line drive into the outfield and one run scored. It was now 3-2 Red Sox with two outs and runners on 1st & 2nd.

He hit the next batter. It was still 3-2 Red Sox with two outs and the bases loaded.

He walked the next batter to force in a run. It was now tied 3-3 with two outs and the bases loaded.

He walked the next batter to force in another run. It was now 4-3 Angels with two outs and the bases loaded.

He hit the next batter to force in yet another run. It was now 5-3 Angels with two outs and the bases loaded.

Mercifully, the next batter flied out, ending the inning and sending me to bed.

Amazingly enough, he went three more innings and did not give up another run but that first inning was more than enough. It was his third bad outing in as many outings and in my opinion, it might be time for him to go pitch for someone else. Something isn't right with him and I don't the Boston coaches know how to fix it.

So anyways, tonight is another 9:40 game. Crochet has the start for the Red Sox and I will once again try to watch the first inning.

I was going through some old pictures and I ran across this one:

The longer I look at it, the more I laugh.

Then I found this picture I took of the toilet paper aisle at our local grocery store during covid:

I suppose I can laugh at it now but back then, it was not a pretty sight.

And last, but not least, let me be among the first to inform you that the Atlantic Hurricance Season has officially begun.

It's hot.

I took the following picture of my extra-fancy thermometer at 4:40 this afternoon:
Three things I noticed -
  1. It's freakin' hot & humid outside.
  2. My air conditioners are doing an excellent job.
  3. I need to put a new battery in my outside sensor.

Pat and I both agree that it is too hot to golf. I'm sure Willie also feels the same but he's probably out of town on one of his numerous trips.

So Iran launched a bunch of missles at air bases in Qatar that house US Military. Please note that I did not say US military bases. Iran has launched missles at Qatari military bases.

No one was hurt and none of the missles actually hit their mark but I can tell you that the Qatari's are pissed. I can also tell you that I'm betting The Very Stable Genius is trying to figure out what to do next.

I sure hope his next move is to call the Iranian grand pubah and say, "Okay, are you happy now? Do you want to stop this shit and talk about things or do you want to hide in a bunker for the rest of your short life?"

Oh, and heaven forbid anyone should question the great and powerful Oz...

Buehler has the start tonight. Hopefully he performs a lot better than he did during his last outing when the Red Sox lost 8-0 to the Mariners.

I'll know tomorrow how things went for him and the Red Sox.

They lost the series

The Red Sox lost to the Giants 3-2 yesterday and 9-5 today. That means they lost the series.

Not only that, the Mariners have moved into the thrid wild card slot, half a game ahead of the Red Sox.

Tomorrow they start a three-game series against the Angels. Since it's still a west coast game, it won't be on until 9:40. That means I'll find out what happened on Tuesday morning...

Well, The Very Stable Genius bombed Iran and his minion Hegseth gave a speech about it.

When I heard this line, I said, out loud, "Jesus Hegseth, why don't you just give Trump a blow job live on television."

Aside from Hegseth gagging on Trump, I also recalled that Trump once said this:

Funny how well that twit aged...

Oh, and on more thing - Homeland Security says, "Heads up everybody."

Okay, it's late.

Good start

I was pleased to learn that while Dobbins didn't make it out of the fifth inning last night, the Red Sox did win the game, beating the Giants 7-5.

They are now only one game behind the Blue Jays, three games behind the Rays and four games behind the Judges in the ALEast.

They are slowly creeping up the ladder and it is my belief they stand a very good chance of winning the division this season.

Todays game started at 4:05 and Bello had the start.

It is currently 3-0 Giants in the sixth inning.

I'm was not an english major in college so "words" are not my strong skill but I'm pretty sure "mindbogglingly” isn't a real word.

Once again, The Very Stable Genius is just making shit up.

We finished trimming the bushes this morning so the yard work is completed.

We are ready for the heat wave to arrive!

Happy Summer Solstice

At 10:42 pm our time (EDT), the earth will be tilted in relation to the sun so that the sun will be directly over the Tropic of Cancer and summer will officially start in the northern hemisphere.

The closest human settlement where it will be noon on the Tropic of Cancer when it is 10:42 pm here is the island of Miyakojima in the Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Also, it will be tomorrow there when the solstice happens so that's kinda weird.

Anyways, I sure hope they have air conditioning there.

The Guardians lost last night which means that as of this morning, the Red Sox had sole possession of the third wild card slot.

Tonights game against the Giants starts at 10:15 so I won't be watching any of it.

Dobbins has the start and I will be happy if I find out tomorrow morning that he held the Giants to zero runs over seven innings.

They need to win this series if they want to hold on to that wild card.

The lawn is mowed and half of the bushes have been trimmed. Tomorrow morning, we will finish up the last four bushes.

In case you haven't heard, we are expecting temps in the upper 90s on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

That, my friends, is what is known as a heat wave and if you know me at all, you know I hate heat waves.

Another series win

The Red Sox beat the Mariners 3-1 yesterday and took two of the three games in their series.

The Red Sox are currently tied with the Guardians for the third wild card slot.

The Guardians are currently playing the Giants and they have a 1-0 lead. If they win, the Red Sox will drop half a game out of the wild card.

In other Red Sox news, they sent Campbell down to Worcester today.

The kid hasn't been hitting and his fielding has been a not so great for the last few weeks. I think the big leagues may have pressured him a bit and by sending him down, they are giving him a chance to get his hitting and fielding back in order.

Abreu is coming off the IL and is slated to rejon the team in San Francisco tomorrow.

Bregman is working hard and there are hopes that he will rejoin the team soon.

There are still rumors floating around that Yoshida may return sooner than expected to take over the DH slot but those are mostly wild-ass guesses foisted upon us by Boston talking heads.

Right now, I am watching the KPMG Championship. At 6:30, I will put on the national news. As soon as I get bored with it, I will either switch back to the KPMG or I will put on the Worcester Red Sox game.

Just because the Red Sox are off today doesn't mean I don't have sportages to watch...

They got their ass kicked

I don't want to say that Walker Buehler had a bad night last night so I'll just say that when I went to bed at the end of the second inning, the score was 5-0 Mariners.

When I woke up this morning, I found that the Red Sox had lost 8-0 and that can't be blamed entirely on Buehler. The Red Sox batters only got two hits and they struck out ten times. Tough to score runs when you aren't hitting the ball.

As for today, the game started at 4:10 and Crochet had the start and so far he's pitching pretty well. The game is currently in the bottom of the fourth inning and the score is 3-1 in favor of the Red Sox.

Not a lot going on today. Most of the day was rainy and cool which means no working outside.

Last week, I painted one of the bathroom ceilings and did some touch-up work on another so I don't have much indoors that requires my attention.

I did do some nerdy stuff today. I did full software updates on my VPN, my SMB server and the vet clinic's VPN server so those machines are all set for a bit.

To my knowledge, the US has not bombed Iran.

I'm not sure how much longer that statement will be true.

Reasons were given

Sam Kennedy and Craig Breslow held a zoom meeting with the media last night and basically what they said about the Devers trade was,
Look, we expected him to be a leader in the clubhouse and to do what the team needed him to do. He had other ideas.

We spent several months trying to come to an agreement with him, Craig tried. Sam tried. Even John Henry tried but we finally reached a point where we knew it wasn't going to happen and we felt it was best for all concerned to go our separate ways.
Make note that there are no quotes around that statement because neither one of them said any of that. They said a lot of things that added up to that.

What I got out of it was they don't want to say anything bad about Devers but he wasn't a team player. The time had come for him to go play for someone other than the Red Sox.

I appreciate the fact they did not have anything negative to say about Devers and at some point today/this evening, Devers will be introduced to the Giants fans. Hopefully he will not say anything bad about the Red Sox. It would be good for everyone, including the fan bases of both teams, for this to be a peaceful parting of the ways without a lot of finger pointing and bitching.

So anyways, the Red Sox are currently a wild card team! They moved into the third wild card slot when they beat the Mariners 2-0 last night.

The first of their two runs came from a home run by Anthony in the first inning. Later on, after I had gone to bed, Duran hit a triple and Toro hit a single to drive Duran in for their second run.

Giolito threw 91 pitches to 21 batters over six innings, gave up three hits, walked one, struck out ten and gave up zero runs. That’s a pretty darned good outing.

They are back at it again tonight. Buehler has the mound and, dammit, the first pitch is, once again dammit, at 9:30, dammit.

The Very Stable Genius demanded Iran's unconditional surrender today. He did this right after posting this on his truth thingeee:.

I'm pretty sure that not only are the Iranian's not frightened by Trumps bluster, they don't read his truth thingeee so they probably don't even know he said anything.

Besides, they all want to be martyrs so threatening them with death is no big deal for them.

The Boston sports guys are a mess

Depending on which sports guy you read (or watch), the Bosston media seems to be all over the planet on the effects of the Devers trade.

For instance, here are the headlines fro various sports sites:
  • WEEI - "Why the Rafael Devers trade should make Red Sox fans mad"
  • NESN - "What Red Sox Can Build Without Rafael Devers"
  • MassLive - "Trading Rafael Devers another sign Red Sox don’t have a plan"
  • 98.5SportsHub - "It won’t be long until the Red Sox see the recently-traded Rafael Devers again"
  • Boston Globe - "The Rafael Devers trade gives the Red Sox major flexibility, like it or not"
  • Boston Herald - "Devers trade only creates new messes for chaotic Red Sox"
As you can see, there is nothing close to agreement or even an explanation of why the Red Sox traded Devers

I'm sure every reporter within 100 miles of Fenway Park asked the question, "Why?" of any Fenway Sports Group executive they could get their hands on but no one is talking.

Tonight should be interesting. I hear Kennedy and Breslow are slated to address the media via Zoom at 8 p.m tonight and every talking head on the planet will interpret what they say in their own special way.

As for tonights game, Giolito has the start.

Since it's a 9:30 start, there are no lineups posted at the time I am writing this. Also, since it's a 9:30 game, I won't be awake to watch more than an inning or two of the game.

Despite the recent flare up between Israel and Iran, the DJIA is up today:

Unfortunately, it is still down 3½% since the Very Stable Genius took office:

They swept the Judges

Two days ago, the Red Sox beat the Judges 2-1. Last night, the Red Sox beat the Judges 4-3. Today the Red Sox beat the Judges 2-0.

That is what is known as a sweep.

This also means the Red Sox are only half a game out of the last wild card slot. They are currently tied with the Twins half a game behind the Mariners.

Right now, they are on a plane heading for Seattle to start a three-game series against the Mariners. If the Red Sox can win that series and the Twins don't go on a sudden winning streak, they will move into the third wild card slot.

What would be even better would be if the Blue Jays lose their next two games and the Red Sox win the series because that would put the Red Sox into the second wild card slot.

Now for the bad news...

I don't think they are going to win any series over the next few months because immediately after todays game, they traded Devers to the Giants.

I'm not sure what they got in return or why they traded Devers. I suspect it has something to do with his recent refusal to play where they needed him. Whatever the reason, they traded away a franchise player who was hitting the ball really well.

The last time they traded away a franchise player it was Mookie Betts and they still haven't recovered from that loss. Unless they got superman in return, this is probably going to look like a bad idea over the remainder of this season.

The world is unchanged - someone blew someone else up, Trump made a wild claim about something, prices are up, stocks are down, etc.. etc.. etc..

Crappy day today

Yesterday, it was sunny, it was dry and the temperature was around 75°. There was nothing about yesterday that sucked.

Today was cloudy, rainy and had a high temp of around 63°. Basically a shitty day all around.

This means I'm not in a sunny mood so get ready for some bitchin'

The Red Sox beat the Judges 2-1 last night, taking game one of the three-game series.

Crochet was on fire, going 8½ innings and striking out Judge three out of the four times he faced him. It was the fourth time that Judge hit a game-tying home run, forcing the game to extra innings.

Chapman came in to finish the ninth inning and Whitlock came in for the top of the tenth. He held the Judges to zero hits and the Red Sox batters did what needed to be done to get themselves into scoring position. Narvaez came up with runners on second & third and he smacked a nice wall-scraping ball that drove in the winning run.

Tonight's game is on FOX so I guess I'll have to put up with Eduardo Perez mumbling about how great Judge is again.

First pitch is at 7:10 and Dobbins will be on the mound for the Red Sox.

The Very Stable Genius was caught unawares and is now trying to make it appear like he knew what was happening all along.

Give it up Donny, Israel is not listening to you. You are nothing more than a spectator when it comes to the middle east. As a matter of fact, you don't seem to have any influence at all when it comes to the current state of world affairs.

The war in Ukraine you said you would "end in 24 hours" once you were elected is still going on because Putin has never listened to you.

Oh, and those prices you said you would lower are still going higher.

Enjoy that $45,000,000.00 tax-payer funded birthday party you are putting on for yourself you arrogant, self-centered, spoiled little brat.

Things at the US Open haven't changed much.

It's still fun to watch but I gotta be honest with you, Oakmont Country Club looks like a nasty course and no one was having a good day. Add to that the fact they were playing in the rain and the frustration was evident on the players faces.

There was a lot of grimacing...

Beautiful day today

There is a new text scam going around about owing money for unpaid tickets.

I got one this morning:

I'm going to say something I have been saying a lot lately - no government agency will ever send you a unsolicited text message saying you owe them money.

Let me repeat that: NO GOVERNMENT AGENCY WILL EVER SEND YOU A UNSOLICITED TEXT MESSAGE SAYING YOU OWE THEM MONEY.

Also, no government agency will ever ask you pay them using gift cards or bitcoin.

There was no baseball for me to watch but there was some golf and it was some pretty damned interesting golf.

The usual suspects, Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy were pretty far back in the pack, struggling to find a shot to save their opening rounds while guys like Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young were holding an 11th place tie.

But the one guy who made the round extra interesting was a guy most people have never heard of named Patrick Reed.

Reed managed to do something that has only been done four times in the history of the US Open when he made an albatross on the 621 yard par 5 fourth hole.

For the record, Reed ended his round tied for 49th so unless he blasts a few more "3 under" holes, he's probably not going to finish in the top ten on Sunday but it sure was fun to see him make that one shot.

So Israel has decided that the middle east hasn't been screwed up enough lately and it was time to really stir the pot so they launched a major attack on Iran, tagetting not only facilities but military leaders as well.

Now you all know as well as I do, Iran will retaliate and the situation will potentially escalate into a really, really bad time for everyone.

And by everyone, I mean not just the people living in Iran or Israel but all of us all over the planet.

Iran has already said that it will regard any attack on it as an attack by the United States so heads up people...

Oh, and one more bright ray of sunshine - This has caused a the DJIA to crash and oil prices to spike upwards. That means we're going to be poorer and gasoline prices are going to go up.

The New York Aaron Judges are in town to start a three-game series against the Red Sox this evening and I'm really hoping the Red Sox win another series off them.

Crochet has the start and the first pitch is at 7:10.

Here are some links:

They won another series

The Red Sox beat the Rays 4-3 last night, winning the series. They remain in fourth place in the ALEast

Buehler tossed a good game once he got through the first inning. That particular inning wasn't one of his best...

They are off tonight and tomorrow they welcome the Judges into town to start a three-game series.

Hopefully they win that series as well.

The media is going to make a big deal out of this but the bottom line, if you are dressed in casual clothes, have no press credentials and are yelling questions like a protestor at a press conference, you kinda deserve to get hustled out of there and cuffed.

Do I think the cops overreacted? No, I do not. They had no idea who he was or what his intentions were.

Tensions are high right now and it would have been smarter of the senator to stay in Washington DC and asked his questions from the floor of the Senate chambers.

For what it's worth, take it easy on the pike and on 91.

We ran some errands today that took us on pike for a distance of about 9 miles and on 91 for another mile. In that 10 mile drive, I saw no less than five state troopers running radar on the sides of the road. I also at two more troopers that had vehicles pulled over.

I guess what I'm saying is stay below 70 mph on those roads because in Massachusetts, the fine for speeding is $50 for up to 10 mph over the speed limit.

Anything over that 10 mph over the speed limit tacks on an additional $10 for each mph. They then tack an additional $50 on for what they are calling the "head injury fund".

In other words, if you are going 80 on the pike, you will be fined $50, plus an additional $50 for the mph between 75 & 80 and then they will tack on that additional $50 for the head fund.

I don't know about you but in my world, $150.00 is a pretty hefty fine to pay just to get to the mall 5 minutes earlier...

Nice win

The Red Sox evened the series 1-1 last night by beating the Rays 3-1. They still remain in 4th place in the ALEast but hopes are high that the youngsters are beginning to make their presence known on the diamond.

And speaking of the youngsters, Roman Anthony's family was on hand for last nights game. His mother, his father, his brother and of course, his sister...
Apparently the NESN camera guys pointed their cameras at her almost as much as they pointed them at Roman.

So anyways, Buehler has the mound for tonight's game. First pitch is at 7:10

Pat has requested that I not say anything negative about today's golf game so I will honor that request.

The first hole is a 150 yard par 3 over water.
All three of us opted to lay up short of the water at about 50 feet.

Due to the poor drainage where our shots landed, one of us took a mulligan which went well left of the green and two of us opted to drop on the hole-side of the pond, leaving each us with a 75 yard chip up to the green.

Two of us opted to lay up short of the green while the third choose an entirely different approach and flew to the left of the green over near the second tee box.

I will let you guess how many more strokes were required to get all three golf ball onto the green. I will tell you that after putting out, we all announced "Par!" and walked off to the second tee box, giggling like little boys that had just pulled a fast one on the teacher.

And that, my friends, is how the entire round of golf went - lots of laughing and and excessive amount of ball stiking. Once again, fun was had by all and we decided we're going to it again.

Oh, and sorry Pat. I tried to be positive but it was hard.

The last Wilson brother died today.

The Beach Boys were an iconic group that produced fun music. They stayed away from deep or controversial bullshit and simply entertained us.

I know the words to almost every one of their songs.

An eleven inning loss

The Red Sox just couldn't overcome in the eleventh inning and they lost 10-8 to the Rays.

Roman Anthony had a mediocre first game. He had zero hits but did manage one RBI when he walked in a run.

On another note, I am of the opinion that they are using Bernardino way too much. From what I can see, he's come in to pitch in 4 of the last 7 games and last night he kinda collapsed.

They are back at it again this evening. Giolito has the start and the first pitch is at 7:10.

Heads up folks, this could get entertaining as hell.

When an arrogant prick who lives in a fantasy world starts arguing with an arrogant prick who lives in a fantasy world, you just know some of the dumbest things you ever heard are about to get printed by the media.

Tuberville is the village idiot of the Senate and he is positive he is the smartest person in any room he is in.

Newsome thinks everyone on the planet worships the ground he walks on and he can't understand why anyone would ever disagree with him.

I can't wait for round two of this fight. It should be more entertaining than the Trump/Musk standoff.

Because I am the father of three children, this made me laugh:

They won the series

Last night the Red Sox beat the Judges 11-7, winning the 3-game series.

I thought Dobbins did a great job on the mound but the star of the show has to be a toss-up between Abraham Toro and Carlos Narveaz.

They are back home tonight to start a 3-game series against the Rays.

Bello has the start and first pitch is at 7:10.

Also, WooHoo! Roman Anthony will be playing right field.

Speaking of last nights baseball game, ESPN carried the game and it was, by far, the worst game coverage I've ever seen.

This is the last year ESPN is carrying baseball and I can't wait for it to finally end.

It will be nice to not have to listen to Eduardo Perez drone on & on about his lacluster baseball career or his worship of Aaron Judge.

Pat, Willie and myself were suppossed to play golf today but the weather had different ideas. We probably could have played but the weather dweebs said "rain on and off" for the day and we all decided that playing golf in the rain was a bad idea.

We'll try again in a few days. Hopefully the weather treats us better.

Nice win last night

Crochet was pretty darned good and the batters were hitting the ball well, moving the runners along. This meant the Red Sox beat the Judges 10-7.

Crochet faced 97 batters over six innings, giving up 5 runs, walking one and striking out nine.

Dobbins is scheduled to start tonight. First pitch is at 7:10.

Oh, and before I forget to mention it, they really need to find a spot on the 40-man roster for this kid.

My wife spent most of her day today on our porch cleaning all the furniture, the screens, the rug and the walls. That means our porch is officialy open for the season. It also means the cats have moved in and claimed their spots...

We had a special house guest yesterday:

Ruby's owner went to New York for the day and my wife said we would take care of Ruby for her.

Ruby was a good house guest and a good dog. She is welcome here anytime.

There are a few websites I use on a regular basis. Sites for things like banking, investing, various hobbies and of course, news.

Trust me, whenever you see this banner at the top of on one of your websites, you know things are going to suck in the next few days...

No website has ever been changed in the hopes of providing a better user experience.

Websites are changed for two reasons - they found someone cheaper to keep it updated or they are trying to capture more data from you that they can sell on the open market.

Sonofab....

The Red Sox sucked last night. They lost to the Judges 9-6.

It was 5-0 Judges after one inning and it did not get any better after that. It was 7-0 after two innings and byt the fifth inning, it was 8-1.

Buehler only made it through two innings which was at least one inning too many.

Tonight Crochet has the start. First pitch is at 7:35 and FOX is carrying the game.

Very lazy day today and I didn't really spend a lot of timing looking at the news.

What I can tell you is that Tump & Musk are still fighting like two 12 year old girls, Karen Reid & Sean Combs are still on trial and it is still raining on weekends.

Not that I care about rain on weekends. I mean, every day is a weekend for me. I just feel bad for all the people still working who actually look forward to weekends.

I wasn't going to post this but then I realized it was both funny and true:
