Reasons were given

Sam Kennedy and Craig Breslow held a zoom meeting with the media last night and basically what they said about the Devers trade was,
Look, we expected him to be a leader in the clubhouse and to do what the team needed him to do. He had other ideas.

We spent several months trying to come to an agreement with him, Craig tried. Sam tried. Even John Henry tried but we finally reached a point where we knew it wasn't going to happen and we felt it was best for all concerned to go our separate ways.
Make note that there are no quotes around that statement because neither one of them said any of that. They said a lot of things that added up to that.

What I got out of it was they don't want to say anything bad about Devers but he wasn't a team player. The time had come for him to go play for someone other than the Red Sox.

I appreciate the fact they did not have anything negative to say about Devers and at some point today/this evening, Devers will be introduced to the Giants fans. Hopefully he will not say anything bad about the Red Sox. It would be good for everyone, including the fan bases of both teams, for this to be a peaceful parting of the ways without a lot of finger pointing and bitching.

So anyways, the Red Sox are currently a wild card team! They moved into the third wild card slot when they beat the Mariners 2-0 last night.

The first of their two runs came from a home run by Anthony in the first inning. Later on, after I had gone to bed, Duran hit a triple and Toro hit a single to drive Duran in for their second run.

Giolito threw 91 pitches to 21 batters over six innings, gave up three hits, walked one, struck out ten and gave up zero runs. That’s a pretty darned good outing.

They are back at it again tonight. Buehler has the mound and, dammit, the first pitch is, once again dammit, at 9:30, dammit.

The Very Stable Genius demanded Iran's unconditional surrender today. He did this right after posting this on his truth thingeee:.

I'm pretty sure that not only are the Iranian's not frightened by Trumps bluster, they don't read his truth thingeee so they probably don't even know he said anything.

Besides, they all want to be martyrs so threatening them with death is no big deal for them.
