That is what is known as a sweep.
This also means the Red Sox are only half a game out of the last wild card slot. They are currently tied with the Twins half a game behind the Mariners.
Right now, they are on a plane heading for Seattle to start a three-game series against the Mariners. If the Red Sox can win that series and the Twins don't go on a sudden winning streak, they will move into the third wild card slot.
What would be even better would be if the Blue Jays lose their next two games and the Red Sox win the series because that would put the Red Sox into the second wild card slot.
Now for the bad news...
I don't think they are going to win any series over the next few months because immediately after todays game, they traded Devers to the Giants.
I'm not sure what they got in return or why they traded Devers. I suspect it has something to do with his recent refusal to play where they needed him. Whatever the reason, they traded away a franchise player who was hitting the ball really well.
The last time they traded away a franchise player it was Mookie Betts and they still haven't recovered from that loss. Unless they got superman in return, this is probably going to look like a bad idea over the remainder of this season.
The world is unchanged - someone blew someone else up, Trump made a wild claim about something, prices are up, stocks are down, etc.. etc.. etc..
How about I try to find some non-depressing links:
- I wonder if he yelled, "Don't tase me bro. Don't tase me!"
- In US Open news, JJ Spaun won and Shane Lowry ain't happy.
- Some phones and smart watches will automatically call the police if they detect you got into an car accident.
- My question is, Who is the idiot who decided to display it without any protection in the first place?
- Why don't you try it first and let me know.
- Key statement in this story: ..."enjoy martyrdom"...
