Beautiful day today

There is a new text scam going around about owing money for unpaid tickets.

I got one this morning:

I'm going to say something I have been saying a lot lately - no government agency will ever send you a unsolicited text message saying you owe them money.

Let me repeat that: NO GOVERNMENT AGENCY WILL EVER SEND YOU A UNSOLICITED TEXT MESSAGE SAYING YOU OWE THEM MONEY.

Also, no government agency will ever ask you pay them using gift cards or bitcoin.

There was no baseball for me to watch but there was some golf and it was some pretty damned interesting golf.

The usual suspects, Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy were pretty far back in the pack, struggling to find a shot to save their opening rounds while guys like Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young were holding an 11th place tie.

But the one guy who made the round extra interesting was a guy most people have never heard of named Patrick Reed.

Reed managed to do something that has only been done four times in the history of the US Open when he made an albatross on the 621 yard par 5 fourth hole.

For the record, Reed ended his round tied for 49th so unless he blasts a few more "3 under" holes, he's probably not going to finish in the top ten on Sunday but it sure was fun to see him make that one shot.

So Israel has decided that the middle east hasn't been screwed up enough lately and it was time to really stir the pot so they launched a major attack on Iran, tagetting not only facilities but military leaders as well.

Now you all know as well as I do, Iran will retaliate and the situation will potentially escalate into a really, really bad time for everyone.

And by everyone, I mean not just the people living in Iran or Israel but all of us all over the planet.

Iran has already said that it will regard any attack on it as an attack by the United States so heads up people...

Oh, and one more bright ray of sunshine - This has caused a the DJIA to crash and oil prices to spike upwards. That means we're going to be poorer and gasoline prices are going to go up.

The New York Aaron Judges are in town to start a three-game series against the Red Sox this evening and I'm really hoping the Red Sox win another series off them.

Crochet has the start and the first pitch is at 7:10.
