A win and a loss

The Red Sox can 't score a [insert really bad word here] run to save their lives. They got shutout 4-0 by the Yankees last night.

Early gave them a decent outing, facing 23 batters over 5⅓ innings. He gave up 3 earned runs, 3 walks and struck out 4 so not terrible.

They are back at it again tonight, weather permiting. First pitch is at 6:45 and my youngest will be at the game with his boss.

Hopefully they win.

The Bruins managed to hold off another Sabres third period rally and won 4-2 last night.

I have to admit to not watching a lot of the game because I got wrapped up in the Red Sox but from what I can see in the recap, they matched the Sabres in penalties and managed to score a power play goal.

The series is now tied at 1-1.

Here are the standings in round 1 as of this morning:

The Bruins and Sabres will play the next 2 games in Boston. Puck drops at 7:00 tomorrow evening

Time for an update on my newest grandchild:
She is growing like a baby should which means a constant stream of new clothing must be given to her.
Her father and I have declared her to be a Baby Genius and I suspect she will be doing complex math in the next month or so.
Seriously, she is doing great and her mom & dad are being great parents.

So as to not overlook the older grandchildren:
Our grandson, the oldest, is in kindergarten and doing great.
His sister, our middle grandchild, is in pre-school and doing great.

This has been your update on our grandchildren.

I am, as always, the proud grandpa.
