A sweep is always good

The Red Sox beat the Tigers 4-0 last night, winning all 3 games in their series.

It was Gray's first game back after a brief stint on the IL and I thought he did pretty well. He only gave up 4 hits but a lot of his success can also be attributed to some stellar defense.

So with that sweep, they are now tied with the Blue Jays for last place in the ALEast and only 1 game behind the Orioles.

They are back at home in Boston where tonight they start a 4-game series against the Rays. If you look at the standings abaove, you will notice that the Rays have been playing some pretty damned good baseball. I hope the Red Sox can continue their winning streak.

The new guy, Bennett, who pitched on May 1st when we went to the game, has the start tonight. First pitch is at 7:10

We spent this morning and afternoon doing our annual mulch-a-palooza.
This is after we had finished for the day. It's about half the pile that we started with and I moved it all using my ancient wheelbarrow & a snow shovel.

This year is easier than the previous years. This year we only got 5 cubic yards of mulch instead of the usual 8 yards and a lot of it went under the line of trees we have on the side of our house.

We'll be back at it again tomorrow but that will involve the tractor and trailer because we will be spreading it in the back gardens.

Oh, and after we called it a day of mulching, I decided that since I alredy stunk and was dirty, I would mow my lawn.

It's amazing what fertilizer does to grass. I mowed it last Monday and I had to mow it again today because it had grown quite a bit.

I have to take some ibuprofen and then watch some baseball.
