And just like that, they're gone.

At 4:30 this morning, we got out of bed, washed up, poured coffee into travel mugs and headed for the airport.

Once we got there, my daughter and her little angel, the small emergency backup dog, boarded a plane to Iowa.

They arrived safely back at her apartment this afternoon but she indicated that several other people weren't quite that safe. She passed several cars that had gone off the highway and were in the process of being towed. I guess there was a some frozen precipitation that caused slippery road conditions.

Fortunately for her, the road was fine when she got there.

Then again, having spent some time in Iowa, I'm not entirely sure those people know how to drive in bad weather.

The Red Sox managed to win again today and I managed to watch the game.

Life is good.
