My dog is all repaired.

Today was the day he had surgery to repair a torn ACL. Turns out that there was a lot of damage and I suspect some of it was quite old. The meniscus was "shredded", the ligament (ACL) was torn off and there was the start of arthritis.

According to the vet and the handy-dandy little booklet on post-surgical treatment, we're looking at 8-12 weeks of recovery.

He is more than a little loopy and I suspect in some amount of pain. I feel bad for him but a few days of discomfort is way better than a lifetime of leg damage.
