Stock up on batteries and milk!

I want to know when 2 inches of snow became "an emergency".

This is what popped up on my television screen at 5:00 this evening:

Two things I want to say about that message.
  1. Why do I get emergency alerts for New Hampshire? I don't live in New Hampshire.
  2. Who decided that a few inches of snow is a good enough reason to fire up the system that was put in place to warn us about nuclear attacks?
We are using technology to scare the shit out of ourselves. This is the modern version of Aesop's Fable: The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

The NHL has cancelled tomorrow Canadiens/Bruins game because of covid.

I'm not entirely sure how many members of the Canadiens have covid but at least six members of the Bruins, Blidh, Frederic, Swayman, Bergeron, Marchand and Smith, are all out on the "protocol"

In this situation, postponing the game is a good thing for the Bruins. Those six guys make up a substantial part of the team and not having them on the ice pretty much guarantees a loss.

As for football, the Patriots/Colts game scheduled for tomorrow night is still on but three other games have been postponed. The Raiders/Browns, Washington/Eagles and Seahawks/Rams have all been postponed to Monday or Tuesday.

Covid appears to having its way with us again.
