My friend tells me that her partners 32 year old son remains on a ventilator. According to my math, it's been about 8 or 9 days for him. The survival rate for covid patients on a ventilator for 8 to 14 days is 74%. The survival rate for patients on a ventilator after 14 days drops to 50% and continues down from there.

Suffice to say they are hopeful that he comes off the vent within the next 5 days.
