Final game of the regular season

Despite their losses last night and today, the Red Sox managed to clinch the best record in all of Major League Baseball when the Athletics lost to the Mariners yesterday evening. This means they will maintain home field advantage during the playoffs.

I notice that Farrell continues to play some of the Triple-A guys. Today was Quintin Berry and John McDonald. These are two guys who got the call up when the rosters expanded and they've managed to make it clear they know how to play. I doubt they'll be in any of the playoff games but it's nice that Farrell is giving them a chance play in the majors.

And speaking of the playoffs, the Red Sox will play in the ALDS "A" series which means they will play the winner of the American League Wild Card game. The first ALDS "A" game will be next Friday, October 4th. They have yet to announce a start time but I suspect it will be at 8:00 pm.

During a time when a large number of Americans are out of work the largest employer in the United States of America is about to shut down.

The reason it's about to shut down is because we elected two idiots who are incapable of sitting down with each other and working things out so that we, the customer, get the services we pay for.

Attention Obama and Boehner: It's a matter of simple customer service....
