The cold is back

It didn't get above freezing today and the next few days don't look much better.

All I can say is, "Thank goodness we had our furnace replaced this past fall!"

Our heating system does more than just supply heat, it also supplies hot water. The old furnace was incapable of delivering both at the same time so we used to judge our shower/bath times on whether or not the heat was on. Even then, we would end up with luke-warm or cold water at some point during our shower.

The new furnace does both quite well and we no longer have to worry about cold showers. When the temps drop into the teens or lower, the heat is on. No matter how efficient your furnace or how well insulated your house is, the heat will be on. We still get nice hot showers.

It's nice finally living in the 21st century instead of the 19th century.

The Red Sox lost to the Pirates today but that's not the big news.

This is the big news.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Wright may have just finalized his career. This is a bad look for a guy who was suspended last year for domestic abuse.

I'm sure that at some point after the All Star break, the Red Sox will fit him into the rotation just to see what he can do but I suspect it won't last. He will have missed half the season and he probably won't be in the best of shape.

The last thing they need is a distraction or problem in the club house.
