That was a knuckle-biter.

Yet another game where the Red Sox have a lead going into the 8th, give up a run and go into the 9th tied 3-3.

And into the 10th tied 3-3.

And into the 11th tied 3-3

In the 11th, the Red Sox managed to score two runs and then hold the Blue Jays

This is good because the Orioles won today and if the Red Sox had lost, they would be tied for first place going into a four-game series in Baltimore.

Now if they can stay on track and take 3 of the 4 games from the Orioles, they will have a pretty good lock on first place.

That would make me happy.

I should mention that the Red Sox newest reliever, Clay Buchholz, came out and pitched a scoreless 10th inning which was enough to make him the winning pitcher. Maybe putting him in the bullpen will turn out to be the best thing that's happened to him in the last few years.
