The Red Sox beat the Mets last night but the Yankees beat the Rangers and the Blue Jays beat the Rays. That means the wildcard race remains as it was with the Red Sox one & a half games up on the Blue Jays and two games ahead of the Yankees.
The only difference in today's schedule is that the Blue Jays/Rays game started at 3:10 this afternoon and right now, the Rays are up 6-0. And if my math is correct, if the Rays win this game, they clinch a playoff spot.
As for the Rangers/Yankees and the Mets/Red Sox games, they both start around 7:00 this evening.
It's time to feed the creatures, feed the family and feed myself. Then watch some baseball.
While I do all that, you can do these:
- First a $1.3 trillion tax debacle. Then the abrupt and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. Now this. Goofy Joe is really on a roll...
- Key phrase in this story: "Tarbell provided the dispatcher with his name and location."
- Facebook new motto: "Hey, we're facebook. We do what we want."
- This pretty much fits the description of every middle-aged guy in Florida.
- I would venture to guess that if they ever fire this guy, the fans will stage a riot.
- It's probably a good idea to refrain from having sex with carp.
