They split the series

Despite having most of their regular infield players and relief pitchers out wirth covid, the Red Sox managed to split the series with the Rays. It doesn't move them any closer to getting back into first place but it certainly didn't push them any further back.

They are currently 8 games behind the first place Rays and 1½ games behind the second place Yankees.

Tonight starts a three game series at home against the Indians (or whatever they are called now). Hopefully they win this series.
