The stinkage continues

At this point it seems like the Red Sox have fallen apart. They don't seem to be playing like a team. As a matter of fact, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe Cora has lost control of them.

Cora has always been a guy that can get the best out of his players because he treats them with respect and dignity. This year, however, he seems to be doing some things that indicate he might not have their backs. For instance, the other day Verdugo, who has been playing his heart out since day one of this season, had what amounted to a mental lapse and failed to "hustle" to second. He was out and while his out was not the reason they lost, Cora benched him for the remainder of that game and the next game.

To be honest with you, maybe sitting him for the remainder of the first game was appropriate but to embarrass him by announcing that he was benched for the next game didn't seem like the best thing in that situation. As a matter of fact, it might just have put Verdugo on the path of, "Trade me or cut me" that some guys go on when they don't feel appreciated.

Verdugo has been one of the most consistent and focused players on the team for this season and to bench him was, in my opinion, a mistake. I hope it doesn't come back to bite Cora and the Red Sox in the ass.

So anyways, the Red Sox lost big last night, again, getting beat 10-3 in what I can only describe as a shitty game of baseball. Shitty enough to drop them below .500.

Remember yesterday when I said, "Hopefully he doesn't suck..."? Well, he sucked. So much so that they DFAd him after the game.

Dermody only made it through four innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out only one batter. Then Kluber came in, made it through 3½ innings, giving up seven earned runs and striking out only one batter.

Tonight they are in New York to start a three-game series against the Yankees. Unless their attitude and game-play improves, I don't imagine this series is going to go very well. But, since I'm a Red Sox fan, accustomed to loss, I will keep a good thought and hope they manage to win the series.

The DJIA had another up day today. As a matter of fact, it had an up week:
We like up weeks.
