Gray didn't get the win because the game was tied 3-3 when he left after five innings but the Twins won none-the-less.
Oh, and remember yesterday when I asked, "What is wrong with Kluber?" Well, this popped up on the Red Sox transaction list last night:
- "June 21: RHP Corey Kluber placed on 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation."
They also put McGuire on the DL and Verdugo on bereavement leave because his grandmother died. Those guys are two players that I wish were in the line-up. They both hit the ball well but McGuire is hurt and Verdugo needs to be with his family.
As for this afternoon, the game started at 1:10 and the Red Sox starting pitcher was a guy named Garza who I never heard of. He pitched one inning, giving up three earned runs.
Garza was followed by a first-timer making his major league debut named Walter. He went 6⅔ innings, giving up three earned runs. Not bad for his first trip to the big leagues.
Unfortunately, the hitters weren't hitting and the baserunners weren't stepping on home plate. That means the game ended with the Red Sox losing 6-0 and splitting the series with the Twins.
Now they are off to Chicago for a three-game series against the White Sox.
Not much else to go on about.
