It's still sticky...

...and the Red Sox are still losing.

At some point, both of those things need to change.

I had to go into work for a bit today so I could make some phone calls. Seems that one of our vendors had a data breach a while back and we are reaching out to folks in our community who may be affected by it. One of our clients who may be affected by the breach is also the victim of identity theft and she believes that the data breach is the cause of her identity theft.

To be honest with you, I can't say if it's the cause or not but I can say that it sure seems awful coincidental that a breach happens in May that involves her data and she becomes a victim of identity theft in July. It seems so coincidental that no one in their right mind would rule out the possibility that hackers gained access to her account using the data they obtained from the breach.

So anyways, I spent a good amount of time on the phone with her and got her to start breathing normally again. I gave her all the steps she should take to get control of her financial well-being and what steps she should take with the state of Connecticut, where she lives, to make sure she has the resources of the law on her side.

This little incident has occupied quite a bit of my time over the last two weeks and it's finally coming to a head. We've scheduled a conference with the vendor's VP / CISO and hopefully we can start getting some answers.

So like I said earlier, the Red Sox lost last night and they are once again in last place in the AL.

I had a thought: Maybe the reason the Red Sox are losing is because of that idiotic decision to start their games at 7:30 instead of 7:05 like every other team in the MLB. Maybe they are losing because instead of behaving like this is a normal baseball season, they are changing the way they do things and it's screwing things up.

Just a thought...

As for the Bruins, they did not play last night because the game being played before them went into quintuple overtime. That pushed the Bruins start time back to well past 11:00pm and they decided to delay the game until today.

The Bruins and the Hurricanes played at 11:30 this morning and they also went into overtime. It was only a double overtime but still, it was overtime.

The game ended around 2:50 when the Bruins managed to dump the puck into the Hurricanes goal and win the game 4-3.
