Maybe that bag of corn needed guarding. Maybe it was up to no good and she was ready to attack if it made a move. Or if it didn't move. Either way, she was ready to pounce.
The Red Sox had a two-game winning streak until this afternoon.
According to FanGraphs, they stand less of a chance now than they did a few days ago:
But that's okay, I'll still watch them.
Last night's game was almost a bust. Weber pitched a good game and he left after five innings with a 6-2 lead.
Then the bullpen took over...
Three members of the bullpen combined to give up 3 runs in the sixth and 3 runs in the seventh making the score 8-7 in favor of the Blue Jays. The eighth inning was a wash and they went into the ninth inning 8-7. Bogaerts hit a home run and then Vazquez got on base and scored on a hit by Munez, giving the Red Sox a 9-8 win.
It was a tough game to watch but in the end, it turned out okay.
As for today's game, a starter I know nothing about named Triggs did... Well, I can only describe it as "meh". He only made it through 3 innings which kind of sucks for a starter but he left with a 3-1 lead.
Then the bullpen took over...
By the end of the fifth inning, the Blue Jays were up 7-4.
By the end of the sixth inning, the Blue Jays were up 10-5.
By the end of the eighth inning, the Blue Jays were up 10-8.
By the end of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays were still up 10-8 and everyone went home after a 4 ½ hour game.
I really hope that during the off-season, the Red Sox do something about their pitching because their bullpen kinda sucks. And their starting pitching isn't really what I would call top-of-the-line. They have officially reset their luxury tax situation and Henry has proven that he is willing to spend money. It would be nice to get some bullpen arms and maybe a starter to help fill in when Evoldi or Sale end up on the DL.
For the record, my lawn has begun showing signs of recovery.
The recent rains have caused large portions of it to sprout green again and I had to mow it yesterday.
Don't get me wrong, it still looks like crap and mowing probably created more dust than grass clippings but what the hell, the green part looks short now.
