And the most amazing part of all is that our government was caught completely off guard by this. No warnings to travelers about unrest, no restrictions about incoming flights. No nothing.

I will not be surprised to learn that this coup is backed by ISIS.

And in case you were wondering, I have a connection. My cousins daughter, Wende, is married to a great guy from Turkey named Demir. She has a lot of family over there and fortunately, some of them are here visiting. I'm betting they won't be going back too quickly.
