It should be a good game because there is now only a week and a day until the season opener and there are several guys battling for jobs. One of those guys is Chavis and he will get the start at first today over Dalbec.
Last season, Chavis's hitting was less than stellar. Basically, he sucked at it. So far, this spring training, he's hitting the cover off the ball. The problem is all that hitting has been against pitchers that are just starting to get into the swing of things.
He's gonna play hard over the next few days because he's one of the few guys with minor league options available to the team. That means he is one of the few guys that can be sent down to the minors.
Over the next week, Cora and Bloom will have some difficult decisions to make.
I'm going to watch some baseball.
