Mulch is down.

We (meaning me) made several trips to Lowes to buy multiple bags of mulch with weed control. Between  trips, we (meaning my wife) spread the mulch in her flower beds and around some trees.

That, my friends, is known as teamwork - I haul it and she puts it down.

The Red Sox managed to beat the Rays today. This series was supposed to be a four-game series but they got rained out on Friday, making this a three-game series. The makeup game is scheduled for sometime in June.

The Red Sox are off to a pretty damned good start considering how poorly things went for them last year. But I gotta tell you, the big story in MLB is the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves are playing .917 baseball with a record of eleven wins and one loss. That's a hell of a record to start the season.

I wasn't going to bring this up because it didn't seem pertinent to the situation but now that the Sandy Hook parents are making more and more appearances in front of congress or the media, I feel compelled to point this out:
Having the families of murder victims lobby congress to impose restrictions on the constitutional right to bear arms is like having the families of catholic church molestation victims lobby congress to impose restrictions on the constitutional right to religious freedom.
Believe what you want to believe, feel the way you want to feel but remember that when we start applying feelings and beliefs to our constitutional rights, we run the risk of alienating or persecuting certain people.

Just sayin' is all.
