Lots of sport stuff today

Lets start with the Red "We got the 'rona!" Sox. They have six players on the covid-19 list. They are Hernandez, Arroyo, Barnes, Sawamura, Taylor and Perez.

On top of that, they lost last night, putting them 9 games behind the first place Rays and 2 games behind the second place Yankees

They traded some cash to the Indians for a minor league pitcher that no one has ever heard of named Peacock. He will be the starter tonight.

I'm pretty sure I will not be shocked if they lose tonight.

Now on to the Patriots.

Belichick made a move today that brings me great joy.

Last December, I said,
Well, today the Patriots released Newton outright and announced that Mac Jones will be their starting quarterback.

For those of you that haven't been watching the preseason games, I can tell you that Jones is a far better quarterback than Newton.

Look, I'm a realist and I know that when the real games start next week, Jones may fall apart like a house of cards. Rookies tend to do that when the pressure is on them but there is no way he can be as bad as Newton was.

Finally, lets take a look at the Bruins.

Last season we witnessed the collapse of one of the best goalies in the NHL. Tuukka Rask had to be taken out of a couple of games and during one of those games, he had to bne helpd off the ice.

Turns out the Rask tore his labrum in one of his hip sockets and he had surgery for it this June. It looks like he will be unavailable until January of 2022.

In order to fill the hole left by Rask, the Bruins signed free agent goalie Linus Ullmark. They lost Halak in free agency but they have Swayman, a kid who impressed the hell out of me last season.

With Ullmark and Swayman, they have a really good goalie rotation. Assuming Rask comes back in January and is somewhere close to his potential, they should have a formidable team.

I'm going to make some dinner and then watch the fiasco that is the Red Sox.
