I only made it through seven innings of the game before going to bed around 10:00. It was like watching a Yankees/Red Sox game: slow as molasses in January. It seemed like the pitchers were contemplating every pitch like it was a life and death decision.
Speaking of the Yankees, Stephen King is a Red Sox fan and he tweeted this "memo" to Robert Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, the other day:

Tonight's game is at 7:00 and if the pitchers can speed things up a bit, I might just get to watch the whole game.
There is something seriously wrong with a society that drops their infectious dead into a river that supplies most of their drinking water.
We are never going to get this virus under control as long as there are places on this planet where people are doing shit like that.
And for the record, the "delta variant" was originally going to be called the "Indian variant" since that's where it originated but people started complaining that naming the variants after the geographic region of its origin, like the UK variant, was "racist".
Time to get dinner and then watch some baseball.
