One down, two to go

The Red Sox took game one of the three game series against the Yankees last night. Unfortunately, the Ray's also won their game against the Angels last night so the Red Sox remain half a game behind them in the ALEast.

Perez could have pitched better and maybe gone more than 3 innings but I guess it just wasn't to be. He seems to have a problem going more than 3 innings and that's not good because it taxes the bullpen. Last night the Red Sox used four relievers which means tonight, those four guys are probably not available.

Hopefully Eovaldi puts on a show tonight and the bullpen gets the night off.

In other sporting news, apparently some moron decided they needed their 15 minutes of internet fame and they stepped out into the roadway holding a large cardboard sign just as the Tour de' France cyclists came roaring up. He (or maybe she, hard to tell) took out at least 20 riders with several of them suffering serious injuries like broken arms, head/face injuries, broken ribs and broken legs.

I could give two shits about the tour de france because I don't care about bike racing. Guys wearing spandex shorts and brightly colored shirts do nothing for me. But as far as I'm concerned the person who did that needs to be made an example of. There needs to be a message sent to the people who think it's okay to do whatever they want in order to get internet fame.

People that interrupt sporting events should suffer a financial penalty. It costs a lot of money to put on a professional sporting event and any attempt to interrupt it should result in compensation to the team owners, the players and the spectators.

People that interrupt sporting events and cause injuries to the participants should suffer a financial penalty as well as a criminal penalty. Negligence on that level deserves prison time.

The heat and humidity are getting ready to roll back into my little piece of the planet.

The weather dweebs claim we can expect temps in the 90's over the next four days with humidity in the "oppressive" range.

Guess I'll be camping out in my house with my air conditioning.

First dinner and then Red Sox / Yankees.
