The Red Sox couldn't pull it off last night.

The Red Sox and the Yankees swapped leads two or three times last night but in the end, the Yankees prevailed. They also lost the best record when the Rangers beat the Brewers.

They still have a magic number of one game to win the division because the Blue Jays managed to beat the Orioles.

Tonight, the Red Sox need to beat the Yankees to clinch the division and the Rangers need to lose to the Brewers so the Red Sox regain the best record.

Counting tonight, there are only five games left in the season and it would sure be nice if the Red Sox went into the playoffs with home field advantage.
